speck replied to molinomama's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm type 2 diabetic but never took medication. My sugars are perfect since pre-opt and surgery. -

I have the same problem. Philips Milk of Magnesia cured me!!! -
You could always call Peachtree Bariatrics in Atlanta. They might would see you. It would be close by also.

Actually those are the only ones besides Protein shakes that I am allowed. My dr. gave me an information sheet that tells you what to eat each week for 6 weeks. I don't add anything that is not on there.
-
I totally agree with what you said. I'll just have to tell myself that it's temporary. The mashed cauliflower sounds good but I can't have veggies for another two weeks.

"Im embarrassed when I bump into those that knew I had the surgery because of little diffrence in appearance. Im also too embarrassed to go and get a fill. " Would you rather have self loathing for going back to who you were? You can do this, you already have. Just pretend that your are starting the process all over again. Get excited!!!! We care about you, don't forget to be your own friend. -
First of all, thanks to everyone who post their daily menu. It is very helpful to the newly banded. (me!!) For those of you who eat breakfast- what time do you eat breakfast? Also, I see that most eat at least one snack a day. Do you eat the snack because you are a little hungry or do you believe it helps with your metabolism? TIA

So no problem with almonds huh? That's great. I can't wait to have my walnuts again.

I've already decided that if I ask for child's portion or in your case a child's buffet and I am told no- I will then just order me a bowl of Soup and let it go. I figure the issue is with me and not the restaurant. Just my opinion of course. -
What Kind of Soup Are U Eating During The Mushie Stage?
speck posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I hate those campbell cream of Soups. I thought about broccoli and cheese but broccoli is fiberous and I was told to stay away from that. Also, I'm not in the vegetable stage. What can I eat besides egg drop Soup? Thanks -

How much can you eat at one feeding? I ate 1/2 cup of yogurt yesterday and that was good. But today I ate about a cup of egg drop Soup.(strained) Then I was still a little hungry but just held off. -

I didn't have any movement for 8 days. I finally called the dr. and they said Milk of Magnesium. Trust me when I say it did the trick. -
Good Morning Everyone, I tried to start my Water around 8:30ish and wow did I have bad pains in chest. Here it is 9:30 and still a problem. Also, I drink room temperature water and not cold so that should be better. I am going to switch to warm chicken broth and see how that goes. I'm just curious if anyone else has that pain early in the morning? My last drink was around 8:30ish last night so I hate to go 11 hours without fluids.

Hi, I was banded on Wednesday(10th) and have a few questions. 1. Do you measure your Water out and drink so much an hour? I was told to drink 32 ounces. I've been setting a timer and sipping 2 oz every hour. 2. Do you feel a heaviness in chest? If so, do you think this is a sign to stop sipping the water? 3. Do you have lots of rumbling going on? 4. Have you been able to lie down? I can't lie down but I can sleep sitting up in bed with lots of pillows. And just basically how are you doing your water? And something else- when/how are you taking your Calcium, multi-Vitamins and Iron? Thanks Sandra

simple and easy? Or if you just made something up and it turned out tasting great. TIA

What does being stuck feel like??
speck replied to mamalovell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had surgery on the 10th and my chest will hurt if I drink water sometimes. I just take it as a sign to stop. Try again in 20-30 mins. -
Here's a little update. In the mornings when I wake up I have a pain in the upper breast area. Everyday I try to drink 3-4 oz of room temperature propel Water every hour. I read to start the day off with something warm so I started doing hot chicken broth. That seems to be ok but here's the question. If I am swollen(surgery was the 10th) would it be better to drink something cold to help the swelling go down? I'm not really sure what to try because I would hate to drink the cold water and be in misery more than I am. Also, last night I had two popsicles back to back. That really made my chest feel better so that's why I'm going with the ice cold drink theory for in the morning. Any thoughts or experiences on this?

So we went from FUPA----Fatty Upper Pubic Area to PCOS!!! On a serious note- it's great that someone can ask questions like this and get help. Great board!

long does it take you to drink your Protein shake? And how much can you drink at one time? TIA

For Those Recently Banded How
speck replied to speck's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This morning I decided to try 4 oz and will try to drink that within the hour. I am not dehydrated(went to primary dr yesterday) but I have the most severe cotton mouth. I am about to die. I suck on ice chips all the time. Anyways, I had a few good big sips of really cold Water this morning and it's ok. But immediately afterwards, I feel like it's tightening up a little between my breast. I'm just so thirsty. -
wooo whooo, I have made it through my 1st month

Wow surgery and you QUIT smoking.:crying::thumbup: Because you have done this- you deserve nothing but the best health and peace of mind. Don't ever look back. It's straight ahead from here on out. Thanks for inspiring me. -
how much Water can you drink a one time. 1/4 cup, 1/2 cup, full cup? I am so thirsty and I am drinking my water but I would love to turn it up and just drink the whole bottle. I'm out 7 days and can only have chicken broth and propel water. (just so you will have that information. I'm just hoping later that I can at least have a good half a cup at once.
-
Oh I don't gulp believe me. I'm saying it takes an hour to sip 2-3 ounces. Do you know that feeling after a hard workout at the gym and you're sweating and you just turn an ice cold Water bottle up? That's what I want to do. But I know that's not going to happen .
-
Wow, I can only drink 2-3 ounces per hour. When I tried more, my chest was killing me.
