since being banded. I caught myself saying tonight that I might as well just not care because the time I finished my salmon I was exhausted from chewing and it got cold and it was like maybe I just shouldn't care what I eat and just eat something for nutrition purposes only instead of enjoyment. And when I say enjoyment I mean healthy food decisions. (not the old behavior of half a gallon of ice cream) I haven't even had a fill yet so I can only imagine it getting worse. Amy I making sense?

I thought it would be good to have somewhere to go daily to read something positive. I've decided with my new way of life I want to be as positive as I can with friends, family, work, social life, food, etc. I'm no longer the glass is half empty. So, I'll go first. I'm thankful that there was a medical intervention for me to change my life where food was concerned. I now have the opportunity to go in the opposite direction then where I was headed.

Hmmmm I've got to really think about that one. (just in case you're right)

Did you tell him you wouldn't have married him either if you knew he was going to be such an arse hole!!!!!!! My apologies, I'm in a mischievous mood tonight. Hugs to you. -

Bandiversary was last week..what a difference a year makes
speck replied to kagoscuba's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Kagoscuba- How long after your surgery did you start exercising? Thanks for the motivation. -
It's funny you say that. I fill a pitcher everyday and take it to work so it will be on my desk. Guess what, I never drink it. lol Great advice though.

but I'm getting ready to start exercising but I can't get this off my mind. I just have an issue(you can laugh a little bit) that if I run that my port and band will be bouncing all around and it can't be a good thing. If you're done laughing, please talk to me. Thanks

I would be happy to get the shakes from you and pay the shipping. PM me and let me know how you want to handle it. Thanks

Do things really taste differently? How so?
speck replied to kaytiebugs's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've been banded a month now and I just keep praying that the feeling won't go away. I forgot to add that today I had a cucumber(seedless) for the first time with my tuna. I thought it was disgusting. lol -

You look HAWT!!!! (and younger ) -
So how long did you have the band? I just assumed it took years for it to erode???? Also, how did they remove it? Did they have to cut you?

Why Don't We Give A Little Update Where We're At
speck replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good Morning, I had my 1 month follow-up yesterday and all was well. I asked about the Realize Band- why he decided on that at last minute. I was told I didn't have much fat and the realize band has a little less chance of eroding. He explained to me about the eroding also. He said the band is surrounded by fat and once the fat is gone, the band has to have something to "cling" to so to speak. That's when(and it's rare) that it will attach and erode into the stomach. So that helped me to understand that better. I go for my first fill Oct. 29th. That will put me at 7 weeks for my first fill. I'm happy about that. I'm still learning my eating behaviors so it gives me the opportunity to make some more changes. I hope everyone is band happy!!! -
Thanks for posting!

What a great post to read in the morning. A great way to start my day off!!! Thanks My positive post for the day is------- I'm determined to get into two pairs of jeans that I used to wear. The only two pairs of "pants" that make my flat arse look halfway decent. :tongue2:

At least you know you are not alone. I was banded on the 10th and I started pre-op on August 25th. By Sept. 22nd I had lost 27lbs. Guess what? I think I've actually gained a few and I get around 900-1100 calories a day. I don't care though because I know it's going to work for me. It just might be a little slower now.
-
Wow, I was completely shocked by your past eating habits. NOT!!!! Guess what? That was yesterday. This is today. And quess what else? You have a new life now. Leave the old behind. Hugs!

I look forward to buying "thin" clothes.

For those of you who exercise- do you eat a snack before or after you exercise. I'm just wondering how eating so little food will give me the energy I need to work out. Anything you want to add is appreciate.

So- Do You Sit Down and Eat Like The Rest of The Family?
speck posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
(smaller portions of course) Let's say it's meatloaf, mash pot., squash night- do you eat the same thing. Will there ever be a sloppy joe night where I can have a little sloppy joe on toasted bread? Or is all that gone now? lol And let me say, I'm not talking junk foods. TIA -
Everyones menus looks great but I'm still in the large portion frame of mind. Of course I'm still a newbie but it looks like a lot of menus are very low calorie. Apparently it's been working for you though? I was told to have between 1000-1200 calories because any lower I would have a hard time losing weight. Again, everyone here seems to be doing well by your stats. Any comments appreciated.
