I honestly feel sorry for the poster. (Mariah) The pictures were of Erica Garza.(a model) However, I don't like liars. Especially when you have people asking her "how she did it". Obviously she has some issues. I hope she gets them resolved. I think I can understand where the weight issue comes from now.

Unexpected Side-Effect -- GALL STONES!!

I was just diagnosed with 1 gallstone about a month ago. However, I truly don't feel like my problem is. I have pain in the upper middle of my stomach. Nothing on the right side bothers me at all. It hurts worse on an empty stomach. If I eat it feels better. I somewhat think it's an ulcer but who knows. I was told the only way to find out is an endoscopy. And right now I don't feel like have exploratory surgery. -
I know this topic was posted over 2 years ago BUT I'm glad I found it. Thanks for the tip. Sandra

7 cc's in a 9cc band is not the end. You still have room for 2 cc's and when you are towards the end- that 2 cc's goes a long way. I too have struggled with my band. (realize) I finally got to 7.25 and just the .25 made a difference but I'm still not there. I have every intention of using all my fill capacity to 9cc if need be. I would discuss with my dr. that you still have 2 cc's waiting to be used.

Good to hear from you. I was struggling but I seem to be getting back on track. I've lost 50lbs but that was within 4 months of surgery. I haven't lost anything in about 4 months but hopefully I got the ball rolling again.
What about you? How are you and your band?

I completely feel you. I think the exact same thing. I have around 7.5 in my band and hardly any restriction. I go for I think is my 6 fill this Wednesday. I'm hoping to find restriction as my diet has gone to he!!. From what I keep hearing, the closer we get we won't need as many fills and we will only need tiny fills. So I think there will be plenty of room. -
For starters I know upfront that this isn't good and I'm working on it. So---------- Has your doctor mentioned that slider foods can cause the pouch to stretch? TIA

Well I've been the same weight going on 3 months now. My last fills haven't gone so well. 8cc's in my Realize Band was to much. So I know I'm between 7cc's and 8cc's. However, they take to much out- blah blah blah and don't use fluorscopy so who knows. I'm hoping the next one will do it. (especially for insurance to pay) I'm ready to get the weight loss going again. 48lbs is great but that was lost starting my pre-op diet and the first three months. Sandra -

I'm here to make myself accountable. I've been struggling for a couple of weeks but just this past week I've actually gained 3lbs. I'm 4 1/2 months out and have lost 48lbs so I am very happy with that. However, I see a bad habit forming again and thought I would come here first to get accountable. I also stopped by the Kroger this morning on my way in to work to buy the Special K Protein Water to help me with the hunger. I'm going to try to do liquids for a couple of days to detox from the sugar. As for my fills. I've had 3. I have 7 cc's in my Realize band. I fill good restriction for about 2 weeks and then after that, not much. (I go back February 10th) Thanks for listening. Sandra

Hi Yetramc! I have no complaints on Dr. Duncan. The only issue I had was being sent home two hours after surgery. I thought that was a bit much. I will say that all the times I heard "the band is only a tool" I completely understand now. lol You can eat around the band. With that said, I have lost 50lbs since my surgery. (9-10-08) I could be further along but I have had some issues and I am working on that as I speak.
I would have never been able to do this without the band so I am definitely much better off. Keep me posted on your journey. I would love to hear how you are doing.

Hi there, I saw that we have a mutual friend in common and I want to ask about that person. But I also noticed we are both from Ga. So hello! My dr. is Dr. Duncan. I had surgery 9-10-08. Anyways, back to my question. Have your heard anything from "tainabj"? I'm just curious how her surgery went.
