  4. Cottage cheese. Just kidding!!!!! (in a playful mood this afternoon)
  5. Me too!!!! For all of us with upcoming surgeries- let's keep each other updated. Sandra
  6. I completely agree. I think this is preparing me for the future of a new way of life with food. Also, I have 6 more days until surgery. Starting today I am going to chew chew chew my food to prepare myself for that as well. I think this might just be the key that I need. Sandra
  7. Why not think of every reason this is going to be so positive for you. When I focus on fears it doesn't help me at all. I mean honestly how are we going to feel better? What purpose is it serving? Think everything positive. Just start thinking about that and your fears won't be able to take over. Sandra Let us know how great you are doing afterwards.
  8. in order for me to get it down. I remember reading a post that said the meats need to be wet. I don't think I can handle that if that's the case. I have to have my food well done. Share? Sandra
  9. This is absolutely where I want to be. Thanks- I hope I can do the same thing. :tt2:
  10. No, just for breakfast. I'm here to tell you- the after taste-- gawd! Congrats to the posters who have already lost weight prior to surgery. That is awesome. See we can do it. I'm on day 5 pre-op. It's going pretty well. Kinda tired of the same ole veggies though. Sandra
  11. Everytime I drink a powdered shake I get a headache. I've tried GNC and another one that I can't think of the name right now. (my doctor recommended it and you buy it at Walmart)
  12. Yeh, that's what I meant. Do you have to mix it with broth, salsa, low fat gravy, etc.? Wet- meaning in those things- not raw. lol sorry.
  13. It might have been a good idea for me to have stated by eating anything I meant anything healthy. (fruits, nuts, etc.) It really didn't cross my mind that junk would be included. Those days are behind me. I got fat by eating junk.
  14. Keep up the good work on pre-op a2bachik and debbie. We can get through it. I'm on day 3. Sandra
  15. Thanks for all the positive post. Wouldn't it be nice if we all lived by each other!!!!!! Great support. Sandra

    Anyone from Georgia ??

I am so glad to see that this board is a little more active. I need some Georgia buddies who understand!!!! I'm Sandra. I live in Warner Robins. I am having surgery Sept 10th and my dr. is Titus Ducan. Let's keep posting. I think it's great to know someone who is going through the same thing close by. Sandra
  17. Actually, I'm already going. I started about two weeks ago. I am trying to use every resource I have to make this successful. Thanks for words of wisdom. Sandra
  18. :smile2: So I am officially Sept 10th. It puts me two days behind starting my pre-opt so I am going to do really really good. I want that liver shrunk!!!! lol Anways, just a little update. Hugs to everyone this month. We are in this together and just keep posting. Sandra
  19. Little concerned that sugar will get low first few weeks post-op. Is there anyone who experienced this and might can comment? TIA Sandra
  20. You get a little nervous when they tell you to stick with the handout which basically is nothing. lol I have been afraid to have a little juice if it doesn't say juice, you know what I mean? :tt2: Afraid you might do the wrong thing. Thanks
  21. I should add that I do not take medication for my diabetes. However, I do get high readings at times(160ish-170ish) and can get low(70ish) if I don't eat enough carbs or wait to long to eat.
  22. I found out yesterday that I will be going home the same day as surgery. I was really taken back by this. My insurance coverage will pay for me to stay the night but the doctor's office said it wasn't necessary. I'm just surprised. Sandra
