  1. My Dr. won't do the first fill till the 6th week. He wants to make sure that you are on solids for a while without complications.

What I wouldn't give for a sub right now. Of course I am more of a Mr. Sub fan or Quizinos. Ummmmm SUB :hungry: I hope I am not one of the banded people that can't tolerate bread. My god how awfull.

I don't think that there is a timeframe to use up your education amounts. I was never told in any case. I think it is just until it is used up. I will have to see about claiming the medical. I also file with ufile. I find I get my rebate back a lot quicker. Plus it is sort of idiot proof. Or so this idiot thinks. Damn I wish I had my T4's in. Although I think I would still have to wait in any case cause I have to wait until my last RRSP contribution goes in before the deadline.

I don't know if you will be getting a fill. I was told that by my Dr. that they do not do fills until you are 5 or 6 weeks post-op. I have to admit that I want the fill cause I will need the restriction, especially when I am able to eat solids again, but on the other hand I have to say that I am a little nervous. I hate needles. :phanvan

Mandi I too am still in the position to love tax season. I am still trying to decide what I am going to do with the money I will get back. However I still do not have all my T4's in so I can't even tell how much I will get back if anything. Probably not enough to get a computer. I should still have that education carry over so woohoo for post-secondary I knew there was a reason to appreciate University. I guess people from Ontario can't claim the medical expense of the Lapband. Or can they?

Doddie don't know if you are having trouble with the ticker. I assume that is what you mean. Anyway I used this link to help me figure out how to set up and show my ticker. Good Luck! http://www.lapbandtalk.com/get-ticker-your-t16218.html

Becca you will do just fine. Forget that little set back and just move on. I do know how you feel. I never knew my true love of food until this, and I know a lot of people here say that. I do though. Just the other day my mom ordered pizza and there she was eating this amazing looking and smelling pizza while I had blended veggie Soup for the 10th time that week. Seriously I excused myself and had a little cry. I know that sounds stupid but I miss the food. I just try to keep focused on the end result and what this will all mean for me. It's hard but that's what I love about this forum. I feel like no matter what someone here has probably been in that same boat as me and got passed it. That makes me feel better. Don't worry Becca your doing great. Just look at that ticker of yours! :clap2:

Well I have for sure made my goals that I set for Feb. Goal one was not to die and get through the operation okay. Check Yes for that one. :clap2: (Becca you did it too!!!) Second Goal was to loose 10 pounds, and 18.6 pounds later that goal is a check yes too. Now to think of the goal to set for March. Time goes by way too quick! :omg:

    any vegans or vegetarians?

I am not a vegitarian or vegan but I am sure you could do it. I have gone a couple weeks with no meat. Infact I have gone all my pre-op and all of my post-op so far with no meat (although post-op I started back on dairy). I get my Protein from Beans and lentils in my well blended Soups. Try searching for vegan and vegitarian posts I am sure there are some out there. In fact I did find one for you if you want to check it out. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/any-vegetarians-here-t13193.html?t=13193&highlight=vegitarian

Well the tape is off! The incisions look good 3 out of 5 already look like nothing much and I can tell that in a year the scars for those will be blended in. As for the other two one is just going to take more time and the other is just so big. Or at least it seems that way. So gross where the stich comes out. Gross. Hope that goes away pretty quick. Well back at work after a week off. So hard to come back after such a great week of comfy clothes, lounging, sleeping, great books and TV. :cry

    Optifasters

To be honest I can't do the Optifast. I had a couple of them after the surgery but it was killing me to do it. I have been eating mostly yogurt and soups, especially lentil and black bean (blended like crazy of course). As for portion. I started out with the ice cubes o help me and I would have 2 ice cubes worth but now I am eating about 1/2 cup to 3/4 of soup. Don't know if that is too much or not but a half week of just 2 ice cubes worthat a time was killing me. Can't wait to eat mushies and soft food so sick of soup.

Astro I know what you mean. Weightloss isn't quite falling off like the first week of Opti-fast but just give it time. I think the only reason I have lost anything this week is because I am walking 30 min a day.

Conroe and Suzie Q best wishes and Good Luck tomorrow. I am sure you will both do just fine. Becca and Andrew about the gas I was told it could last anywhere from 2 days to 1 week. I have to admit it has been 6 days since my surgery and I still get a little gas pain in my chest when I get into bed at night. It is not as bad as it once was by any means, but still it is a little uncomfortable. Hope your gas pains go away soon. I found that my Gas-X helped so hopefully it is helping you too.

    Optifasters

Andrew congrats on the successful surgery! You and Becca both sound like you are doing fine. Good to hear. I am almost 6 days out and I am feeling really well. Probably could have gone back to work but hey the time is covered so oh well. :girl_hug: So happy about the idea of taking off the strips this weekend. They are a little itchy. My skin is really sensitive so the strips leave itchy red marks. Yuck! Other than that just some minor pains here and there when I move in certain ways but that's about it. Again Becca and Andrew congrats. Hope you are both heal up fast and well. :girl_hug:

Hey Becca glad you are back and that everything went so well. Enjoy your first cup of Soup. :hungry: I still have a little gas to contend with but the one incision that was hurting is no longer a problem, but boy oh boy do I want to take off these strips they look so unclean.
