    Feeling Overwhelmed W/ Compliments, Wha?

I'm more overwhelmed with the fact that all these new people I meet think I've always been slim....it's quite funny.

    Best Yogurt Ever! 8-)

I love Oikos! It's literally flying off the shelves at my grocery store, though - the last few times I went shopping, they were sold out!

Medium Bath Towel Finally Wraps Around Me!

Your thread reminded me of how when I was in Japan, I went to this festival and all women were wearing kimonos - either their own or rentals. I went to rent one, and at 190 lbs, only ONE kimono in the entire store was big enough to wrap around me (of course, it was also the most boring one, as it always goes for plus size clothing).

    Couch To 5-K

Just did the week 4 run....Jesus. Has to stop and walk for 30 seconds during the last 5-min run, but otherwise lived to tell the story. DNO1, I do Crossfit these days.

    Flame Free Weekend Confessions!

food confessions - just had strawberries dipped in melted milk chocolate Chipits. Non-food confessions - planning to go volunteer at this one event not because of my great passion for the cause, but because this super-hot guy is going to be there AND we might even share a ride, tee hee.

    Couch To 5-K

Tempted to do this....I've run some 5Ks in the past, but only one of them post-sleeve. I hate running, but there's been a lot of talk about adding runs to our Crossfit workouts now that the weather is better, so I should probably start training a bit before I totally embarrass myself when the next workout starts with a 2-mile run. I think I'll start with week 4 today....
  8. Did you ever get down to your goal weight? What are you eating? As in, every day, not just on "good" days? And even more importantly, what are you drinking? What's your exercise routine, if any?

Out Of The Mouths Of Babes

LOL! The other day, a toddler told me she didn't like the picture on my old ID (pre-surgery).
  10. Hm, that's a decent amount. How much did you weigh before and what/when was your lowest weight?

High Protein Bars That Are Sooo Good!

Sweet! I was just thinking the other day that as much as I enjoy my Zone bars, it'd be nice to have something less processed as an option.
  12. 150 reps of 14 lbs wall ball to 9 ft target AND 4 double unders in 12 mins. Death by Crossfit!

  13. I was at work today and was making small talk with the patient's mother when she made an offhand comment about having "80% of her stomach removed" a few months ago. I almost popped an aneurysm! I was like, "YOU GOT THE SLEEVE!? ME TOO! HIGH FIVE!!!" WLS is not as widespread in Canada as in the US, and the sleeve in particular is a bit of a dark horse - only surgeons seem to know about it. So this is a rarity and very exciting! It's the first time I've come across a sleever IRL (not counting meeting with people from this board).

    Exhaustion-2 Months Post Op

You should get bloodwork done. B12and iron are my first suspects. I know you mention you take vitamins, but while most people here take B12, I don't see people taking iron as often. Also, I don't know where you live, but it could be a seasonal thing and have nothing to do with the sleeve. I am always mildly homicidal and permanently exhausted come February, until about April.

Loose Skin After Surgery At 20 Years Old

You'll have SOME, guaranteed, but it could range from very little to pretty bad. It depends on how elastic your skin is, how long you've been overweight, where the majority of your weight is, etc. Bottom line, loose skin >>>> fat.

    Long Term Unknown Results

Ha, that might have been me, except for it was my greatgrandmother. She had stomach cancer. 20 years and going strong!

    Your Over Weight Friends?

None of my friends are particularly overweight, not that any of them are in great shape, either. I haven't really had any weird comments from them.

As I Suspected: You Do Not Need High Weight To Bulk/tone

Interesting! It supports my theory that genetics trumps everything, anyway. I'm not the strongest woman at my gym - e.g. when we deadlifted the other day, I deadlifted 155 and the women's record was 225 - but I'm the most jacked by far.
  23. It's unlikely. Which antibiotic are you on and what type of infection is it? The likelihood of if being the wrong drug/dose is pretty high, especially if the treatment was not based on culture results. According to my friend who's a med lab tech, 50% of empiric antibiotic prescriptions are NOT the best drugs for what ends up coming up on the culture.

    I Still Feel Fat :(

It will take a while for your body image to change. Also, you will be surprised at how much extra weight you carry. I remember thinking I'd be very happy at 160 and undoubtedly ripped to shreds at 155. Then I get to 160 and realize I'm still overweight! Even now at 142 with lots of muscle, I still could lose a few lbs - it just isn't worth the extra effort to me at this point. So beware that it's a long journey and you might not be happy with your looks for a while. Even if you lose all the excess weight, you'll be dealing with saggy skin, and that could take a year to improve.
