Bronnie, Yes. I saw Dr Nottle around the 15th of november and the dietician and physician early december. My GP had sent me for regular blood tests so i took those with me. It was the physician who sent me for sleep tests at Footscray because of my asthma. I didn't mind them that much. It was kinda weird tho but i had had a real busy week at work so i slept no probs lol. Dr Nottle viewed all results and told me i would get a call possibly around june / july letting me know the date of the op.I am on his public waiting list so now i just have to play the waiting game.:phanvan I think i will be operated on at Williamstown Hospital or possibly Werribee but have to stay in overnight because of the asthma.Just hope these months go quickly cos ,like you, i just want it done YESTERDAY ! lol Take care and all goes well Loretta

Hi Bronnie sorry to hear the MRI was horrible but at least it is over with now and you can start fresh tomorrow with the optifast.. good on you for deciding to start now. I really should start thinking about doing something like that too..i am terrible for putting things off tho. With the sleep tests it will actually be the physician who sends you for it if anyone. Dr Nottle doesn't usually do it so i have heard so keep your fingers crossed and maybe u will get let off too Susannah, good luck.. not long to go at all now you lucky girl and well done for doing so well with the optifast catch you all soon and keep up the good work loretta

    DR Nottle

Bronnie maybe if you already have all your tests booked then before you leave Dr Nottle's rooms on the 12th you can book in for your next appointment with him then. just make it a couple of weeks after your physicians appt so Dr Nottle has time to receive results

    Melbourne Chat Thread!!!!

Hi Bronnie, I'm not sure how Dr Nottle charges. Like i said, so far all i have had to pay is the $80 for the dietician and about $100 out of pocket expenses for the pysician . dr Nottle is bulk billing all of mine as i am a single parent. My girlfriend went to see him last month and was told she had to pay for the first consultation which was $150 then after that it is bulked billed with a waiting list of about 6 months.. so i dont get why everyone is paying different amounts ? Whatever the costs thought,a healthier life and being able to feel comfortable in ourselves again is whats most important :scared: have a good day all and hope u r all feeling a little cooler

    DR Nottle

oh and my BMI is 37 Bronnie.. don't think that had any reason to do with it , tho i may be wrong

    DR Nottle

Hi Bronnie The physician i saw sent me for sleep tests because of my asthma. I think it is to make sure i'll be ok with the anesthetic,so, unless you have any health issues, i don't think you will get sent for one Missed that article in yesterdays sun.. trying to check it out now

    DR Nottle

hi bronnie i replied to your msg.. sorry for the delay.I have just got back from holidays. I am on Dr Nottle's public waiting list and he told me it would probably be around a six to seven month wait. I had to go back and see him once all my tests were completed. I was also a step ahead like you but he went and sent me for a sleep test which i hadn't anticipated I asked about optifats but i dont have to do it.. yay, i think, from what i have read from others :clap2: . Think it depends on your BMI. Good luck and keep in touch Good luck to you as well Kaylene. I also have asthma but he didnt say anything about trying to get weight off prior to banding .Keep us posted on how those duromine are going and good luck Loretta

    lab band in australia

hi there i am living in melbourne and recently went to visit the surgeon. Initial visit was $120 ( $60 ) refund from medicare. If you are prepared to go on his waiting list which could take between 6 to 12 months, the operation, fills and future visits are free and dealt with by all the same surgeon
  24. What a wonderful idea.. wish i was living over there in the States . I'd be joining u guys in a heartbeat Maybe the aussie banders should think about putting one together. What an amazing get together it would be. Have fun all of you that get to go. Make sure you post lots of pics when you do go
