The usual, overweight most of my life, lose 75, gain 75, high blood pressure, high cholesterol.  Then I had bloodwork done for a new life insurance policy and I realized that every number was great except...for the first time my glucose was getting too close to the top number in the range.   My sister was diagnosed diabetic at 40 so at 53 I felt like i was ahead of the game.  But that's somewhere I REALLY didn't want to go. There were a couple of folks at work that had the band and insurance covered it so for the first time I seriously considered it.  I'd really like to get off as many meds as possible, so I attended the seminar.  I was very impressed by the doctor and his statistics.  It took some time to get all of the criteria met (pych eval, fitness eval, nutrition education, etc), but I'm tentatively scheduled for July 19th.  The only delat would be insurance taking longer than that to approve.  HTG, I can't wait!
