Any Kansas City bandsters???????
tigermomof3 replied to ladykcusa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey there everyone!!!! It has been forever since I have posted anything. I hope you all had a very blessed Christmas!!! Things are going good here, I am thinking I am needing a fill but then today i feel a bit tighter so who knows my next appointment isn't until Jan 19th so we will see if I call to try to get in earlier. I definately overindulged over the holiday and I am looking forward to getting back into the gym and getting back on track. KC: I am curious as to what the coconut water's benefits are? I have experienced more hiccupping the last couple of days, has anyone else experienced more of that since the band? I hope you all have a very safe New Year!!! -

I am so glad to hear from everyone again, I too had to have a little bit of a fill taken out this last time...NOT FUN! I am not sure if it was an overfill or if I messed up by chewing too soon either way LESSON LEARNED!! KC==If you are planning on donating your clothes I would be interested in them, When I started I was a size 24 and now I think I am a 22 or a 20 but I don't want to go buy a bunch of clothes because my journey is long from over. I wish they still had the clothing closet at Malley's. Anyway I can't afford to pay much but if you are interested in donating let me know!!! If not no worries, just enjoy shopping for the smaller size My husband and I went on a marriage retreat this last weekend and I have found out I do much better eating out than at home as far as taking my time....seems like at home I am thinking about the 500 other things I need to be doing and sometimes forget about eating slow  It is a learning process so I am getting better about it but just wanted to share in case anyone else had that problem too. I hope all is well with everyone!! -

Happy Birthday!! Is Howl at the Moon in the Power and Light district, if so I went there to celebrate a friends bday in March and had a wonderful time!! Take a nap that day if you need to you will have a blast!! I go in for my next fill on Oct 19 I can't wait the last time I was there he did not give me anything (which was fine) but now I feel like I am eating too much sometimes or I will be full and then in just a few hours I am hungry again. Then other days no problems, I have not been on the scale in a couple of weeks I am afraid there will be no change :puke:. I am going on a all girls weekend scrapbook retreat this weekend and I can't wait, some time away from all the business I am so excited! I bet you are loving buying the new size of clothes I have not done that yet i know that my clothes are getting too big but I am waiting til the weather is colder then I will buy more winter stuff. Have a great day everyone! -

Just an update....went to see the good doctor today and basically he said I was doing just fine, didn't add anymore fill today (thank goodness). Doctor said I was just figuring everything out and what I was experienceing was normal, just to take smaller bites and eat slower. I was happy to see the 11 pounds gone in two weeks!!! -

Hey there everyone!!! For some reason I have not been receiving the emails to alert me of posts . Oh well, I wanted to ask, I have been having a few issues since my last fill I don't know if I am too tight or if the band is working like it is supposed to. I can keep down most things but I have had more vomiting than ever before (3 or 4 times in the last two weeks) and sometimes I will sit down to a meal and only two or three bites into it and I am done (and I am chewing very well, and absolutely no drinking) then other days it is better, still not eating much at all but maybe 3/4 cup of food a meal (guessing). As far as weight loss goes I have lost 13lbs in less than two weeks, which I love but I want to make sure I am doing it the right way. I see Dr. Malley on Wednesday so of course I will talk to him but I wanted to hear everyone's input here. Have a great day!! -

Going in for my second fill today, I have not been on the scale since my last fill so I am excited to see how I am doing. Clothes are starting to get a little baggy, I never wore anything super tight anyway . I am sad that Malley doesn't do the clothing exchange anymore, i will mention it today when I am in the office. I hope everyone enjoys the short week!! -

Oh my goodness ladies...I think I had my first experience of something getting stuck tonight...I had brisket for dinner and I don't know if I didn't chew well enough or ate too fast or a little bit of both, but WOW that was the most painful experience I have had in a very long time. Finally it ended coming back up (not trying to be graphic) and I felt better, has anyone else experienced this? Am I crazy?? -

I have only had one fill at it was Karen who did it. She first checked to see if I had any fluid left over from surgery and there was 3cc's already there and she added the extra two to put me at 5cc's total. -

Great!! Last week I did Zumba twice and that was the first time I have done it since surgery and it kicked my tail but it felt great!! I also did my weight lifting program that a friend of mine who is a personal trainer made for me so last week I felt great! This week might not be as productive, we had a death in the family so obviously the schedules are all up in the air for right now but I will try to get it in when I can. Have you stared with the football team yet?? How have you been doing being on the road a lot? I just found out yesterday that McDonalds will give you just a grilled chicken breast if you ask for one and it was only 1.50. That with a little bit of bbq sauce for flavor was a yummy lunch! Just need to remember to chew chew chew -

I am tired of this heat!!!! I am ready to get my first fill 8/25. I have not stepped on the scale in a week or so but the weight loss from right after surgery has definately slowed down and maybe even stopped. I can tell that the amount I eat has dramatically reduced but I still get hungry between meals hopefully after fills that will stop. I have been to the gym one time for a real workout since surgery and it went pretty well it will be easier to go to the gym more frequently once the kids are back in school. I am proud to say that I have not had a Diet coke since July 12th and I was SO addicted to it and drank way more than I should have so that alone is a victory for me on the road to a healthy lifestyle. I just wanted to check in these boards have been pretty quiet lately must be the heat!! -

I did have the hernia repair and I too was pretty sore but mine is more on the right side so for me personally I don't think it is from the hernia. I still have occasional abdomal pain and I am 3 weeks post op. Just take it easy and let your body heal. -

Hey everyone just checking in. As of Friday I am on a "normal diet" or what the new normal is w/o breads and pastas. Things are going okay I am worried about gaining weight that I have already lost via the liquid diets. I have found that I am eating obviously a lot less than before and really have had no issues yet with any foods but I can't help but be a little bit worried. I want to make sure I get plenty of protein but I still feel like I am not getting enough I might go back to some protein shakes at least once a day or something. Sorry for the rambling I am looking forward to my first fill and feeling some restriction I would probably not worry as much then. Looking forward to cooler weather soon, this summer is going by way too fast!! -
