Thank you so much for the encouragement!! I think anytime you have a life change it can be a bit nerve racking. I know it is the right decision I just hate to feel hungry and the preop diet has been difficult because i am hungry :eek:. Only a few more days left :thumbup:

Thank you SO MUCH for this forum I have been on these boards for a little while and this board has helped me so much. My surgery date is July 13th and I am struggling with the preop diet but hanging in there I have found that I am very hungry on the plan even with the Protein shakes. I am so afraid that even with my hard work that for some reason the band will not work for me and this was all for nothing. If I could just put you all in my pocket and have you talk me "off the ledge" a couple times a day all would be great!! :thumbup: :thumbup:

My surgery date is July 13th and yes I have been on the preop since June 29th. I have to do protein shake for breakfast and lunch and a smart one's frozen dinner for dinner, I am hungry and I am praying that after surgery I am not as hungry. Good luck!!

Had my final blood work done today and all the paperwork is all signed....now just waiting til next Tuesday (July 13th). I am getting a bit nervous...what if after all of this work to get here the band does not work...ugh :thumbup:

I completely agree. My surgery date is one week from today (July 13th) and I am really nervous, I know my life will completely change and I am excited/nervous about the "after life" And I have been heavy my whole life and I have no idea what it will be like to be a healthy weight and i completely can't wrap my head around that. I guess if I could I would not be so nervous. :thumbup: Good Luck!!

Great!! Dr. Malley is doing my surgery. I am on the preop diet now which kinda stinks but only one more week til surgery.

I would love to July 13th is my date too!!

My surgery date is the 13th as well!!! I am excited/nervous on the preop diet now and it is okay some days have been easier than others. Looking forward to going through the journey with you!

I started my preop on the 29th, my sugery is July 13th. I am having a hard time with it too. Today is Day three and that is supposed to be the worst, ugh, I sure hope so.

Day one of preop did not go well for me . The hardest part of the day was about 3:00 in the afternoon. I had a couple of bites of birthday cake (it was my bday but that is no excuse). But I am brushing it off and starting my new day today fresh!! It wasn't that I was even necessarily hungry, I don't know but like I said I am starting the new day today fresh, wish me luck!!

Hi there, My surgery date is July 13th and I started my preop diet on June 29th (yesterday) my diet consists of protein shake in the morning and for lunch and a frozen dinner (ww,healthy choice, etc) for dinner. My doc starts this two weeks before surgery. From everything I have read each doc is different even the doc I go to has different preop diets depending on the individual. I am sure you will have more answers when you see you doctor on July 1st. Good luck!!

What brand of Protein Shakes did you use? I saw that the doc offered some but they are pretty pricey so I was looking for an alternate.

Also I have a question for those who have already done the preop diet, I start mine next Tuesday. Did you find yourself super hungry? I was just curious. Thanks!

Whooo Hooo got my surgery date today....July 13th is the day. Been such a long journey I can't believe it is really going to happen. Kinda nervous only about something going wrong and the band being removed and going through all this for nothing :biggrin:. Wish me luck!!!

Sure!!! I just got my approval letter on Saturday and my husband faxed it to Lisa on Sunday and they called me Monday and I returned their call today. I hope we have close surgery dates so we can share the journey. :biggrin:

THANK you so much for your post, I am having my surgery at New Hope Bariatric on July 13th and hearing the play by play has made me feel much better. Does anyone know what percentage of people who have the sugery have complications enough to where they have to have the band removed? I am scared that I go through all of this and then something freakish happens and it has to be removed and I am back at square one. :biggrin:
