Have jumped through all the insurance hoops, My surgery date is 6-12-2019 pending insurance approval, don't see any issues with approval since this is a revision due to complications of the lap band. Looking forward to finally feeling better and losing weight. My lap band has a slip and rather than fix it, my surgeon recommended a revision to the sleeve. Lost 50 lbs with the lap band, but slowly gained back most of my weight that I lost, although I did keep the 50lbs off for over 10 years. Looking forward to finally dropping this weight and keeping it off. Any pointers or advise would be greatly appreciated.

How is everyone? I can't seem to get the scale to move down at all. I'm not making good food choices and really need to get back on the "band" wagon. I work nights and I just can't seem to get my act together. Good new is, we went on a cruise in August and I was really worried that I had gained and actually lost 1/2 of a pound. This band is wonderful, but I have been stuck at 174.4 to 175.6 for a LONG TIME. This week I am in class for work and will be on days and it seems like when I am on days, I lose weight, so I'm going to really work on it this week to see if it makes a difference. When I am on nights, I don't get enough sleep and I know this affects weight loss. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well. Not to many post these days. Come on January Bansters, time to ralley!

I'm still deciding if I need another fill. Maybe just a tweek? We went to the movies yesterday and I was able to eat popcorn like I was never banded, just not as much. So I may call my surgeon today and see when I can get another small fill?? As far as the cruise goes, we have been on at least 12 cruises and the food is not that big of a deal to me any more. They seem to serve the same old same old. So I usually do good and not gain to much. On spring break I don't think I gain anything, maybe like 3 pounds and they came off like 3 days after we got back, most likely water weight. Flying does this to me. I did use the gym most days and we walked a bunch, swam, so I was pretty active for sure. Our summer cruise leaves out of Miami and goes to San Juan, St. Maarten, and Labadee, Haiti. Our ship is Liberty of the Seas, Royal Caribbean. This is their newest ship. We went on Liberty's sister ship, Freedom of the Seas on spring break. It was WONDERFUL! We sailed on the Conquest several years ago. It has a BIG slide, you must give it a try. I didn't and regret it, but we went in November and the weather was crappy and COLD. But my two boys did it even though their lips turned blue, hehe. My last fill was two weeks ago and I am worried that if I get a fill now, will I have time to get use to it? I have not had any issues AT ALL and want to keep it that way. I'm up to 3.5CC, or at least that was what I was told. Sometimes I wonder if this is correct?? GRRR I went from 178/179 to 175.5/176 since the last fill. But I boosted up my water intake to 64oz, my exercise to 6 days a week and tracked all my food, so this may have been the difference and not the fill?? Everyone talks about their sweet spot, CRAP, what is it?:help: I'm sick of this rain:rain:!

Hey everyone! I hope you all are doing well. I was wondering where everyone is at on their fill levels and how restricted you feel. I'm at 3.5CC in a 4CC band. I just got my last fill from 2.5 to 3.5CC's two weeks ago today. I definately feel restriction, but I don't know if I am there yet. So far, I haven't PB'd, or had any other bad side affects. I did have some pig skins last weekend and it went BONK for a few minutes and then finally went down but no pain. NO more or those darn things for me. Anyway, I have boosted up or should I say STARTED my exercise program at the same time I got my last fill. I was sick of just being stalled. Thus the fill and all the exercise. I had been playing with 2 lbs up, 2 lbs down, 177-179. As of last night, I was finally down to 175.5. I have been watching my fat intake and tracking everything I eat, so I guess it's paying off? I just don't know if I am at my sweet spot just yet, but, heck, I'm at 3.5CC's. Fill or not to Fill? We have a cruise planned for 8-17-07 and I don't want to get too tight, I do want to be able to eat something, that's for sure!

I had 1 cheese enchilada and a bite or two of beans along with some chicken fajita meat. So I did good, spent more time talking with everyone than eating. We chose mexican, because it's mostly mushie. I don't have a problem with not drinking water and mananged to stay out of the chip. I had no problems with the foods that I ate. Thank goodness! I was worried with the amount of fill level that I now have, that it would cause probems. But, I hear that it takes 2 week to feel the full effect of the fill. I sure hope this fill does the trick!:nervous

I'm in the same boat at you. I just got my 3rd fill and am now at 3.5CC in a 4cc band. I'm having head hunger, but no physical hunger. My doc says liquids for 24 hours. So tonight, my family plan on going to El Fenix and I will see how much restriciton I actual have. No chips for me, dang it! Dee

Thanks, I checked it out. It looks just like my husbands, so at least I can try his. When he got it, they gave him several sizes of the nose pads. Later, Time for bed! I need to get to sleep, I know this is also one of the reasons I'm not losing. Not enough sleep since I work nights. GRRR I will do better in this department too!
-
Is this it? My husband just got this one and doesn't like it. Maybe I will give it a try? This is what mine looks like. Dee

I tried the Darth Vader mask and there was NO WAY, not only did it bother me, the straps and the thing that rest on my forehead gave me migranes (I'm proned to them). So I got one of those that you stick in your nostrils. What does a Swift mask look like? Dee:help:

Well, I'm finally going for my 3rd fill. I have been stuck for a long time at my current weight. I have no restriction at all. But I haven't gained an ounce, so the band is working. I just need it to work a little bit better. I have been avoiding a fill because I don't want any of the bad side affects that may come with being too tight. So far, I haven't had a single problem. Well does grazing count as a problem. I need to get that under control for sure. I work nights and can't seem to my act together. Who was it that said their CPAP machine was helping them loose weight? No matter, I'm going to try my best to wear the darned old thing. The most I can manage is 3-4 hours and then I yank it off. Man I hate it, but if it will help, I'm up for it. I was wondering what diet your doctor recommends after a fill. The hospital says liquids for 3 days and my surgeon says one day. I will go to the gym in the morning! GRRRR I need words of encouragement! HELP!!! Dee

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Your daughter is beautiful. How does a mother indure this? I agree with Tonya, spend time with those 3 beautiful babies of hers. They need you just as much as you need them. Children have a way about themselves that just brighten up a day. Dee

OK, I need help here. I'm trying to decide if I should get another fill. I currently have 2.5cc (2 fills) in a 4cc band. I can pretty much eat anything I want. I do stay away from white bread or just eat the crust. Any bread toasted goes down just fine. But for the most part I just stay away from it. I can not eat nearly as much as before banding, but can still eat too much. I can't seem to get motivated. I have been stalled out for quite a while. So this is why I thinking about another fill. I'm just worried that I will start to have problems like PB'ing, sliming or pain. So far, I have not had any problems AT ALL. I want restriction without the bad side effects. So anyone have any thoughts? If I could just see the scale go down, I think I could get more motivated. At least it doesn't go up, right? Dee
-
WOW, I just notice your 55 lb loss! Man, you are doing so good! I need some new motivation. Maybe I will do the pre-op diet again for a few days? I need a jump start. That's why I started to exercise everyday. Speaking of exercise, time to go to it now before I get to tired. I work nights, so this is my evening time. The power went out and just came back on, so I must go do my exercise video! GRRRRR Oh we:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: ll, I will feel better after I finish!

Way to go. You are an inspiration to me. You are doing soooo good. I haven't posted in a while, but I have read everyone's post and it seems that everyone is doing well. We went on our cruise for spring break, I only gained 1.5 lbs and had that off within one week. YEA!!! :clap2: A week later I got my first fill, 1.5cc (4cc band) on 3-23-07. I was so nervous that I was shaking and my Dr. was concerned, but I made it through just fine. I still have numbness around my port area, so I didn't feel a thing. Unfortunately, I haven't lost one single pound since the fill CRAP. So I decided to work out every day if it kills me. I'm stuck at 176-177 and at time 178.5...GRRRRRR I'm with you on this one. I hate being stuck. I'm hoping the work outs will get the scale moving again. Oh, and another fill on 5-4-07 should help. I can't wait. No PB'ing, or slim'g. I can eat most anything and the Easter Candy didn't help at all! I'm going out of town to Graceland with my son's high school band this weekend, so hopefully I can get a workout in at the hotel.
-
Nope, you are not alone. I don't gei my 1st fill until March 19th and I was banded on Jan 22. But lucky for me, I still have restriction. But I am in B-Hell because I want to eat stuff that is bad for me. I do good most of the time, but DH brought home some Reece's P.B. Cups and they go down way to easy. Luck for me DH and my two boys ate them up quickly and now we are out of candy. Thank GOD!:clap2: :hungry:

You inspire me for sure. You are such a perfect banster! :clap2: Dee

We took the Conquest the first year it was out and it went to the Western Caribbean. It use to sail out of New Orleans. It's pretty neat. We took it in November and it was cold, so that was sucky, but my boys still did the slide with their blue lips and all. :clap2: We have also cruised on the Grand Princess and I highly recomment that ship. :hungry: They have the best Pizza, unfortunately, we can't eat that anymore?? Oh well, no about of Pizza taste as good as thin and healty feels. I hope everyone had a hunger free day!

Hey All! A few days ago I asked " should I get a fill just 3 weeks before we are scheduled for a cruise on 3-11-07" Well I went to my fill appointment today and told them of my situation and the strongly suggested that I wait till after my cruise. The reason being: they are afraid I will swell up on either the flight to Florida or on the cruise ship itself. They told me that there are a couple of girls on staff that go on cruises and they both say they swell up while on cruises and in fact, the both get a slight unfill before they go on their cruises. They also told me that they can never predict how a fill will go and it would be better to be safe than sorry, after all, the doctor's on the cruise ships would most likely "NOT" know what to do with me should I have problems. So, as one post told me, it's a "NO BRAINER" and another post said to call my doctor. Glad I did. Wheww. I have lost 20LBS since pre-op diet. YEA ME! But I have been stuck for two weeks at the same weight, BOO-HOO, me. I must EXERCISE!!!!!
-
This is what worries me. I don't want to be way out to sea or in a foreign port and be having problems with no way to correct the issue. So, maybe it is a no-brainer. (You are so funny :biggrin1:) We go on several cruises a year and the food no longer calls my name the way it use to, but they use to be food orgies, now it's just about relaxing family time. My two boys, 12 & 15, still regard cruises as food orgies. HEHE So I will let them eat my share and just pick off of their plate.

I'm at the point where my weight loss is stalled. I'm going to start using my stationary bike today and everyday to see if it will jump start my weight loss again. I was thinking if I did the fill, I would, like you, ask for a small fill, but because of the cruise, I'm worried about being out of pocket should problems arrise. I'm on the fence with this one. GGGRRRR I just don't know.....:help:

Hello All, I have a questions to those that were banded this month and of whom are getting their first fill. OK, question, I am scheduled for my first fill for this Monday. I still feel like I have pretty good restriction. So I'm not sure I need one just yet. We have a cruise planned for the week of March 11th and I am afraid if I get a fill and there are problems, then I won't be able to enjoy the cruise having only liquids if I experience problems. I am currently still on mushies until 2-26, so I have a couple of weeks to get use to "real" food. Any words of wisdom?

I had a friend at work that had the lap band and she got a rash on her stomach too. He gave her an antibotic for it?? Did the benadryl work?

1 oz. of liquid an hour
DAS-RC replied to waitingtiljan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I would call my doctor and make sure this is what he wants. It seems if you only drink 1 oz per hour, the most you would get in would be 24 oz of Fluid per day. I think one would get dehydrated? Doesn't sound right to me?? But I'm no doctor. I was told to get in at least 64 oz per day and my apple juice, broth's, creamy Soups, and SF Jello count towards my total intake.
