Obese all my life. In March 1996 I decided to start a new diet as all my co workers were losing weight with the phen/fen diet craze. I went to a doc, he placed me on the pills and I had a reaction to them as I could not stop crying, and was having heart palpitations. So I went back to the doctor and had lost 15 pounds but as he told me that, i cried and he told me that he had to take me off the meds. This for me was when I realized I had lost 15 pounds and to continue to diet. I lost in the end 130 pounds. I went from 254 to 124. it took me a year and a half.

I kept the weight off from 1997 to 2008. I started to regain weight as I had a traumatic divorce, death of mother, loss of job, loss of home. I gained back to current weight of 215. I am greatful I did not regain it all and more.

I have Size 6 clothes and i can hope that this process leads me to the walk in closet of the smaller clothes.

I decided on lap band to be my 'tool" this time.

The weight gain is effecting me physically and emotionally and I have to get a grip on the path of my life from this day forward
