Hi all, I live in Southern California and for the past few weeks it has been weirdly on-and-off raining/snowing. It seems that on the days that it rains, I can't eat most things. Even yogurt hurts. I was beginning to wonder if it is because of the weather that the band gets tighter or something...or maybe I'm just imagining things! Do any of you experience this? -Heather

Thanks! I was banded 6 months ago, so I'm still learning too! -Heather

Strange headaches-pain in salivary glands
Headur replied to noahsmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
wow! I just had my surgery in June 2010, and recently I got a fill that is wayyyy too tight. Problem is, I have to pay $300 every time I get adjusted and so I haven't gone in to get it loosened... I have been having the same headaches and salivary gland pain! Some days I take a bite, and INSTANTLY I get a bad headache pain in the lower back of my head. As soon as the food goes down (it can take a minute or two) the headache goes away. This can even happen with applesauce some days.. The salivary gland pain that I have doesn't happen when I eat though, it is at random times throughout the day. Mostly at night though. I can't figure out why they hurt! I keep wanted to ask my surgeon, but he's very far away and I always forget when I see him. Keep me posted if you've asked your doctor about this... -
So Glad I found this forum! Brand new, would love suggestions!

Good luck with all of your pre-op decisions! I can't help you with a doctor, but I can tell you that now is the time to do it. We are young, we will heal faster, and our skin will not be as saggy! My surgeon was so optimistic because of my age (24) that he said there is very minimal risk and wayyyyy faster healing time. In fact, he said it only took him 30 minutes because I'm young. Let us know if you have any other questions...but I really don't think any surgeon would be reluctant to do it because of your age! -
Hi All, It's nice to see smart young ladies on here too! I am a 24 year old grad school student in Southern California and I just got banded during my summer week off last Thursday! While I don't have to live on campus and eat their food, I do share some struggles because I live alone, I go to school full-time, work on campus, and try to stay involved with my undergrad sorority sisters and friends. I am still in my liquids phase, and when I have night classes it is so hard to see my classmates sit and eat their junk food dinners in class while all I've had is Protein Shakes, broth, and Water the past 5 days. I'm sure I will get over it, but it's HARD!!! I just try to think by the end of the summer how much different I will look when fall classes start again!

So WEAK! No Energy! Help
Headur replied to my3sons963's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my surgery on Thursday 6/17 and I'm supposed to go back to work tomorrow, and grad school starts tomorrow, but I don't think I can do it. This weakness is driving me crazy! I don't even have enough energy to think straight for very long and I can't concentrate. I feel your pain, and I hope the both of us regain our strength.
