Well, I really dont have a 'story' yet, but I'm hoping to very soon. My insurance requires you to be on a physican approved diet for 6 months before they will approve you. I had my first Dr's appt with my PCP in January and my last weigh in will be July 6th. Then the bariatric center will request approval for my surgery. I am praying they will approve it. My BMI stays between 35-36 but I have diabetes, high blood pressure and high CHO and sleep apnea. According to my insurance my BMI has to be at least 35 with other medical conditions (I have all of them). I am hoping to have my surgery asap. I am soooo ready to be healthy and feel better again. I've struggled with my weight on and off for yrs. Oh, yea, I also have hypothyroidism, however, I dont use that as an excuse!!  I love to eat and I admit it!!  :) My family is supportive of my decision but would rather I not do it. My oldest daughter is 25 and she teaches school and my youngest daughter is 14 and will be a freshman this yr. I want to have my surgery before they both go back to school so someone will be home with me for the first few days. I"ve heard stories from others how they knew somebody that had the lap band surgery and it didnt work or it worked for a while but they slowly gained the weight back. I've actually talked to 2 people that had the surgery and it did not work for them at all so I am kind of scared. This HAS to work for me. My father died in his 50's from complications of diabetes and my sister died suddenly when she was in her 40's of heart dx. I dont want to end up like them. I am still alive but not really living. I am miserable. I hate being fat. It's so embarrassing and I am tired all the time and just want to stay at home. I have to take a pill to sleep at night (have for yrs) but I have sleep apnea now and cant use a c-pap machine (cant sleep with one) so I take a pill to wake up to function each day! How crazy is that??? I know its all because of my weight.  I'm only 43 and I feel like im 90. I keep telling my girls we will soon be able to share clothes. :)  I need a lot of encouragement to change my lifestyle for good.  So......please help me!!!!!
