My story is probably the same as many others. I have done the yo yo diet thing since I was aout 25 years old. After I retired from the Navy, I really let myself go and at some point realized that I was not able to recover. I also struggle with rheumatoid arthritis and deteriorating joint cartilage. Obviously heavy exercise was out and my increasing weight was exacerbating the situation. I also have sleep apnea which annoys the dickens out of me. I haven't had a decent nights sleep even with the cpap in years. With so many medical problems, my insurance company was gracious enough to allow the lap band even though I did not quite meet the BMI standard. I am looking forward to health.
