  1. Hi Lynn, I got a nasty shock when NIB advised the procedure would no longer be covered under my existing policy. So I've upgraded my NIB to their highest cover (I wasnt happy though) and I'll keep it at the max for approx 2 years after the banding to give me some peace of mind, just in case. I guess it depends if you want to take the (admittedly small) risk of a complication. Jason

'Sup dudes. Any car guys here?

G'day Gentlemen, I'm a car guy too and my family are all motor-heads, influenced by my dad who is 74 and still races in road-course events. I've owned a 1970 Ford Capri with a 350 Chev / Turbo350 combo, it went like stink but didnt like corners at all. Then there was a Brock Commodore ( I realise you guys wont know about these cars from down here ) and then an ex-police interceptor Commodore, all V8 powered. I've now got (ahem) a Hyundai i30.....please dont laugh! I've taken it to the track a few times and had a ball but the power to weight ratio is shot to hell with me in the drivers seat. I too have made a deal with myself to buy something cool as a reward for reaching my goal weight but I havent decided what it'll be yet. I intend to compete in a road rally called " Targa Tasmania " one day so it will have to pull double duty. I have a website for my very amateurish motorsport photography so have a look if you want at .... Flickr: racin jason's Photostream Good luck to everyone on their weight loss journeys. Jase
  3. Hi Nel,

I didnt keep it a secret, but I didnt advertise it either. Only 10 or so know but if that number grows, thats okay.

    Any June Bandsters?

Hi all, I got banded June 8th, I've had 2 weeks off work and am more than ready to get back, daytime television really sucks. I only had a few days of discomfort after the op with no complications so far. I started at 410 lbs and now at 384. Lots to go but I'm feeling really confident about getting through it. I work in an office sitting on my butt all day so I'm gonna have to get exercising real soon. It is winter down here at the moment so early morning walks dont look too tempting. Good luck to everyone who has taken this step to better health. Jase
  5. G'day everyone, My name is Jason and I was banded on the 8th June,2010. I live down here in Australia, I'm single and 40 y/o. I only endured 3 days of minor pain/discomfort after the surgery and I'm now into the "mushy" food stage of the process. Looking forward to reading about everyone's weight losses and asking/answering any questions that may come up. Jase
