  1. They probably just need to check your sugar and make sure it isn't above 300 because that can delay surgery due to an increased risk of surgical site infections and delayed healing

    Nurse Bandsters??

Hello I also work in the OR and I have my first doctors appointment this week So excited to finally get this underway! I am hoping to only take a week off as I do not want to tell anyone at work that I am having the surgery... anyone else not telling people at work?
  3. This is my first post so sorry if I ramble. I have been researching the lap band for three years now trying to figure out if this is what I want to do. I know how major this is and how life changing it is going to be. I am sick of waiting for my life to start. I went to orientation last week and I have booked my first nutritionist appointment and surgeon appointment for this week... I guess you can say since I waited three years to finally start this journey I am in a hurry to get through with these four months prior to submitting my info for insurance approval! I can't wait but I am also not telling anyone until I do get the insurance approval because I don't want to tell everyone I am going through the process just to get shut down by my insurance... is anyone else in the same boat?
  4. I too am just starting off in the lap band journey and I am only going to be telling close family maybe a couple friends and thats only once I get my insurance approval... they don't need to know before that. It is extremely difficult so far and I haven't even had my first doctors appointment yet! I think eventually I will tell more people after I have done it but until that time it is just my secret
