Hello all- I need help-I had my third fill and it finally took but now I don't seem to be able to hardly eat. Now I have taken to eating easy things which are not good for me. Please-some suggestions of easy things to eat which are not fattening. Thanks so much- dona

I just had my first problem with my lap band surgery. I got sick-no fault of the lapband-and threw up. I didn't know that the lapband swells when you vomit so I couldn't even keep Water down. Dr. T, Nina, Alba and Deandra were so kind to me so anyone out there that is thinking of having Dr. T do the surgery-DO NOT HESTITATE! donamarie

Congrats-Big Sexy! You will go through all kinds of different emotions. I was banded last November and finally my fills are working. Now I'm scared because I'm losing weight and fell like I'm losing me. I've always been chubby or fat. I can't say I was wondering if I should get banded before but afterward, even now, I wonder if it was the right thing. That's emotionally but in my mind I know it was the perfect thing for me. It isn't as easy as I thought it would be but Lord knows it was worth it-so just keep on and know everyone has fears. You're in my heart- dona

Hi Mattie- I was banded at Hartford Hosp by Dr. Tishler last November. I've lost about 30 lbs-I started at 200 lbs. and am now about 165-170lbs. I don't weigh myself too much because I'm a little obsessive. My last fill was the one that took and now I can hardly eat anything except chocolate and stuff that's bad for me. Dr. T doesn't want us to have soup so that's out and I'm dying for real food. Thanks for your help dona

I also agree that Dr. T's office can be really disorganized. I got mail for another patient! But I really love him so all the aggravation is worth it. I also had alot of other surgeries and I only have a couple of little scars from the lapband. Hartford Hospital was not such a bad experience as far as hospitals go. Just make sure you speak up for yourself. I was banded in November by Dr. T and have lost about 30 pounds so it was well worth it- Good luck- Donamaire

Hi- Had my surgery with Dr. T last November and everything has gone really well. I haven't lost as much weight as I wanted to but I'll keep plugging on. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask and good luck with your surgery. donamarie

Hello again- I got my first fill about 12 weeks after my surgery but I know most people get one sooner, about 6 weeks-the surgery was working so well he didn't think I needed one right away. When you go they will give you a list of people that they recommend-my advise would be to go with the names they give you because they have worked with Dr. T and the reports will get back sooner. I learned the hard way and picked someone off the list and wasted 2 months of time-I eventually went to the nutritionist they picked-Mary Noon-she was really great. The reason I picked a different nutritionist was that she was closer but I wasted valuable time. The nutritionist takes the longest time-unless you have some special condition. goodluck:clap2: keep in touch:) donamarie

Hello Emadrak- I had my surgery with Dr.T on Nov.8,2006 and it took me from Jan '06 to Nov '06. It depends on your insurance and what your insurance wants you to do before they approve the procedure. Dr. T did a wonderful job with me and I've lost about 40 pounds since Nov. Good luck and if you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask. donamarie

Hello wph74. I was banded by Dr. T November '06 and am doing great! Lost about 30 pounds and haven't had a fill yet. You will do great-it's a breeze. They treated me really nice at Hartford Hospital-Had surgery at 1p.m. on Wednesday and went home about 2 p.m. on Thursday. Just make sure you get up and walk-you'll feel so much better. dona

Dr. Tishler at Hartford Hosp did my surgery on the 8th of November. Perhaps you could call him. Any other Connecticut bandsters out there? It would be nice to hear from people in my own state. donamarie

I,too, am a Nov.8th bandster and today I cheated for the first time. Not because I was belly hungry but head hungry. I only felt bad for a second because I know it's going to happen again. I have thought of myself as a failure for so long I refuse to do it anymore. :clap2: I'm sure you didn't do any harm and now you have to forgive yourself. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! donamarie

Hi everyone- I was reborn on November 8th. So far so good. Had the usual gas pains and shoulder pains and a bit of vomiting but now I'm doing quite well. Just starting to want food unfortunately. I wish I had found out about this website before my surgery. It would have been such a big help-you guys don't realize how you help. I had my surgery done at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, CT. Hi! I'm a November 8th girl too! Guess I was lucky I had the gas pains for only one day but I have walked alot. Have you gotten sick to your stomach yet? I did but found it was because I ate too fast. Now I eat very slowly. Hope all goes well and your pain goes away. Donamarie

HELLO Finding this site has been a godsend. I have one question-Yesterday I started vomiting-nothing coming up-called the doctor today and he says I may be eating too much.
