Tummy Tuck and the Port- Experiences?
Qtjan5 replied to stateofzen's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I had a tummy tuck last December, and my surgeon moved the port so it was a little deeper in my abdomen muscle. You should make sure to find a plastic surgeon who is familiar with performing surgery on a bariatric surgery patient. Maybe ask your lap-band surgeons office for suggestions. Good luck! -
The 23rd will be my 3 year "bandiversary" since I was banded at NYU by Dr. Ren. I can't believe how fast the time has flown!

How long does the 'bruising' pain from lipo last?
Qtjan5 replied to lellow's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
When I had lipo done on my inner thighs, I felt the brushing feeling for up to 2-3 weeks, even though the physical bruise was gone by the middle of week 2 . I was definitely more sore than I had anticipated. I am just about 2 months post procedure, and honestly, I'm back to all my normal things, however, on days that it is hot and humid, I am more swollen, so my legs tend to be a little sore. -
I had an arm lift and tummy tuck in December, so it's been almost 8 months. Honestly, I think that because I was in more pain from the tummy tuck, I didn't notice the arms. I did not have drains and I only had compression garments for about a week. I was using my arms within the first two to three weeks (although, I wasn't doing any heavy lifting for almost 2 months). Honestly, yes, the scars are hidden most of the time, however, my skin did not handle the incision very well, and I will most likely have to undergo either laser treatments or scar revision because my scars are very thick and still extremely red. I did have a stitch removed about a week post surgery, in my armpit, which left me with a small open wound for a few weeks, but it was more annoying than anything else. The best part for me, is that I have barely any sweat glands under my arms anymore, so I don't sweat under my arms anymore, therefore not needing deodorant! If I had to do it again, I probably would.

I figured that now that swelling has gone down (its been about 7 weeks since I had the lipo of my inner thighs), I'd post an updated picture. I don't really have a before pic, so here is an after pic. I can't believe I am now able to wear shorts!

Sorry about that. It stands for tummy tuck.

I had an arm lift, with my tt, in December. I remember not really being able to do much of anything with my arms for at least a week - i needed help with most things. By the second week, I was able to use my arms to help me get out of bed (which was difficult as my stomach was also recovering). I don't remember much of the specific recovery after that, as I was more focused on the tt recovery. Overall, I don't remember the arm part being so bad. Hope this helped, even if it isn't much info. Good luck with your procedure.

You look great. I am 6 months post TT and my abdomen is still numb in that area. It is a weird feeling but its worth it. My surgeon said that there is a possibility that the feeling will never come back...

got a look at my inner thighs!
Qtjan5 replied to feb27bandwoman's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I have not had an inner thigh lift but I am recovering from liposuction of my inner thighs, which I had done on Friday of last week. I have to be honest, the recovery is not as easy as people have made it out to be, however, I'm sure it is much easier than a thigh lift. Although there is a lot of swelling, the pocket of fat that I had is already 1000 times better - my surgeon removed 1400ccs of fat. This is hopefully my last procedure (I had a tt and arm lift in December)...I just need to see if the skin remains tight. I'll post before and after pics in a few weeks when the swelling has gone down a bit.
