Congratulations to you. -
maybe you should try something with more protein. I have just been trying different protein shakes. I don't think i could use slimfast (that gives me gas, i think i am lactose tolerant). Try Isopure it has 40 grams of protein and is really filling.

My first visit i was surprised when the PA came in and asked me all the questions, but when he was finished he introduced me to the surgeon and then we talked. My other 3 appointments had been with the PA (who is very nice). I have a pre-op appt. with the surgeon on 9/14, I guess i will see who it will be with. Hopefully the surgeon does the surgery, but I know Dean (PA) will be in the operating room. In NJ an assistant has to be in the operating room with the surgeon. I was a little taken back that i don't see much of the surgeon. But i noticed when I am in the office he is there seeing other patients that need fills.

I was wondering if i should put it on facebook. I keep in touch with a lof of my family on facebook. I have told 2 people, but did it in a private message to them. I have told quite a few people at my job, they all are very excited for me. But now I feel they will be watching me to see how fast i lose weight. I think i will wait awhile before i put it on facebook. I am thinking about just changing my profile picture when I lose 50 lbs.

all the surgeon's offices work so different. i got a call to schedule my appt. then they were going to send in the paperwork for my surgery. the next day i got a call that i was approved. i don't even have to do a pre-op diet. just watch what i eat. so just listen to whatever your surgeon's office tell you.

Looking for September 2010 Bandsters
papoose replied to CSinTX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just got a tentative surgery date of Sept. 22. Paperwork will be sent to Aetna for their approval. Now I am getting nervous. I will be seeing the surgeon the week before surgery. Tomorrow I will be having my endoscopy test. -
My surgeon's office just called and asked me if September 22nd was a good date for my surgery. Of course I said yes.:wink2: She is now submitting my paperwork to Aetna.

What kind of Protein Shakes??????
papoose replied to Starting Over 2010's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am using Protein Blitz by Designer whey. It is 30 grams of protein. I also tried Isopure which was 40 grams of protein and I bought the unjury mix also, but have not tried it. The two i have tried so far fill me up. I hope to be banded in September, but my dr's office told me i did not have to do a pre-op. They feel 4 weeks after surgery drinking Protein drinks is enough. I also tried Muscle Milk but that gave me gas pains. So just try different ones to see which ones you like the best. good luck. -
What did you wear surgery day?
papoose replied to Kristy29's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be wearing loose clothing and flip flops. Please let us know where you can order the necklace or bracelets. -
Just called my PCP again. They wrote the letter and they charged me $25 and then they didn't want to mail me a copy or send it to my surgeon. When this is over i will definitely look for a new PCP.

I got a surgery date!
papoose replied to THEMAXWELLFAMILY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good luck on your surgery date. I finished my last dr's visit for the insurance. Now my paperwork will be put in for insurance approval. Can't wait for approval and date. I am told surgery should be in the early part of September, can't wait. -
ok, as long as it just not me, this happened to. i am going to try to be patient.

Today i went to my last appt. with the surgeon. I had to see the surgeon 3 times and then my paper work can be submitted to the Aetna Insurance. I have seen the pysch, nutritionist, i have my endoscopy appt for 8/27. Now my hold up is the medical dr. I dropped off the sample letter for him to write and then forward it to the surgeon's office, so they can add it to their package to the ins. co. That was 2 weeks ago and he still did not write it yet. I am screaming inside. I am ready to have my surgery and start getting skinny. Anyone have this problem, I have already called his office twice. I will call it everyday until it is done.

Looking for September 2010 Bandsters
papoose replied to CSinTX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am hoping to banded in September. My last visit to the surgeon's office is on Tuesday. Then i am told they will submit my paper work to Aetna and it takes a couple of weeks for the insurance to approve. They told that i should not have a problem. My last visit I was told I should have it mid September. I hope so, I am ready. Good luck to everyone that has their dates already. -
I guess i am lucky also. My surgeon's office does not require pre-op diet. I was just told not to go on a last big meal the week before my surgery. After my surgery i go liquids for 4 weeks and then i go straight to regular food. I go for my last appt. 8/10 and then they will send my paperwork in to Aetna Ins. Co. I was told i should have my surgery in Sept. I can not wait to have this surgery.
