I struggled with my weight since my last pregnancy 30 years. At that time,I was on bedrest and my metabolism totally went crazy. Until that time I had problems gaining weight and maintaining a normal weight . After that, adult onset asthma appeared and prednisone became my friend. With each treatment I gained 15# that never would come off. 2 years ago, I discovered I had developed spinal stenosis and 2 hernia disks in my lower back. After conservative therapy, that did little to relieve my discomfort ,Surgery was the next step. It had become almost impossible to work in the newborn nursery due to the different crib heights.I had thought about lapband for quite a while and my back made the decision for me. Continuing to have 100#extra to carry around would only aggrevate my back. So, on 4/12/10 I had titanium spacers placed in l2-3 and l 4-5. Instant relief from nerve pressure. 6weeks later I had my lapband. Recovery from both procedures is progressing well and an unknown large hiatal hernia is also repaired. I have had no issues adjusting to my band,no nausea, vomiting or pain! Really looking forward to wearing cute little sundresses next summer.
