I completely love these message boards! After years of contemplating WLS I go in 2 hours for me first meeting with a surgeon. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time! Nervous of the unknown...I've never been a "normal" size and I'm looking forward to that and to feeling so much better!! Sending happy thoughts to all!

I can totally relate to being READY to begin! I have contemplated WLS for many years and I have finally come to realize that I can't lose enough weight on my own in order to live a healthy life. Tomorrow 10/02 is the first initial appointment with the surgeon. I am so very excited and a tad bit nervous about the unknown. I've never been a "normal" size, so that's very unknown to me. Hopefully because my surgery will be self paid I won't have as many hoops to jump through in order to start my new journey! Happy thoughts for everyone!!
