:clap2: Happy Holidays! I want you all to know that Jan 8th 9am will be my special moment. This has been the biggest and best decision I've taken for a long time. I'm not afraid, I only dread the Slim Fast portion of it (10 days)... But that's ok, cause I know you've all been there and are still alive and kicking. I've learned so much by reading your posts. It helped me gain the assurance I needed to follow through and because of that I want to thank you all. My weight in Oct was 334, lost 24 and aiming for 40 for my operation. I'm from Mascouche, Québec a little town outside of Montreal and will be operated on in Drummondville by Dr Steven Miller. Will let you know how things go. Bye...Gigi

Hi Tres, I'm a fellow Canadian fr Mascouche, Québec and I'm being operated on Monday Jan 8th. I have 2 more days to go with my liquid diet and it's going great. I'm taking Slim Fast 3 or 4 times a day and I must say it can be done. I have never cheated once. The fact that I was already on a strick diet beforehand helped a lot and it made my body go through the transition very well. I wish you luck on your surgery & keep us posted on how your doing. Hi Bailey, these people have no idea what you're going through nor do they have the knowledge needed regarding the LapBand to make an unbiased decision as to whether it's good or not for you. But deep down in your gut, you know what you need, and if it's LapBanding, then go for it. Just read all the posts and you will find comfort, reassurance, and all the info you need to make the right decision. If after that you do not want to do it, well that's OK...but at least the decision will have been yours and yours alone. You know, when you are at the point of considering surgery, usually it's because you've exhausted all other options. So Good Luck with your decision making and keep us posted. Take Care! Gigi

Just to let you all know that I'm in my 4th day of liquid diet and all is well. I have lost 32 lbs so far and aiming for 40 by the end of the week and I do believe I will make it. Jan 8th is coming so fast, only 1 week to go. Wow!!:clap2: I am so determined it's unbelievable and the reason for this is Dr Miller's few words of advice, he said "Just remember that whatever you lose from now on you will never gain back" and I believed him and still do. Those of you who are struggling through pre-op gain loss and liquid diets, may find it easier with this in mind, it did for me. Good Luck to you all...Gigi:)

:bananapartyhat: The only food I'm allowed to have is steamed vegetables once a day but no diet drinks, only Water. I already knew that 2 wks was necessary to shrink the liver but was wondering why your doc is making you do 14 days instead of 10. You have any idea as to why this is? Gigi

Hi Girlinnyc, my doc wts me to start my liquid diet on Dec 30th but I figure I'll start on the 29th to make sure I get 10 full days prior to my op, so how come you're starting so early on?...that will be 14 days..ugh...you can say that again.
