English lady, banded on Sunday
Jayne Elizabeth replied to maudie12's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi I am english and was banded on Tuesday June 8th. I went to Brussels to have it done as it was much cheaper and I had researched it and thankfully it was as good as I had read. Can I ask you how you are both doing now as you are much further on -
Hi I had my band done in Belgium at the AZ Jan Portaels Hospital in Belgium by Christian De Bruyne. I can recommend this trip to anyone, puts the english health service to shame. I feel really good today (Friday). I had it done on Tuesday. I would love to talk to other people who have been banded. I am keeping this private from my friends and loved ones which means you feel isolated. Would love to have somebody to compare notes with or diet ideas with. One question I would like answering is what happens if the food gets stuck. Does in automatically cause you to vomit?

Jayne Elizabeth replied to Jayne Elizabeth's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi danielle Thank you for replying. It is now day 5 and I feel hungry for the first time. I have just eaten the soups and slimfast shakes today but could do with some real food!!! I thought this would not require willpower but I can see I am sadly illusional. Good to hear from you. Keep in touch. -

Thanks Julie. I will keep in touch regularly. I am now going to have a latte coffee with skimmed milk and head to bed. It is 9.35pm here and I don't know about you but I don't have my usual energy. My husband is also thin (so not fair!!!). He doesn't get it but my fifteen year old daughter does. She can see how unhappy being overweight makes me. Hopefully will be feeling more positive tomorrow. Will speak to you very soon Jaynex -

Hi Julie I also had my band done this week a day later than you on Tuesday. I live in England but travelled to Brussels as it was cheaper. I want to lose approx 140 lbs. I have been overweight for over twenty years and have done every diet you could imagine. I have now had enough and wanted to do this for my own sanity. There are also few people that know about my band and I agree it is very isolating. I actually feel a bit depressed about it at the moment which I did not expect. I feel physically much better today. The gas has been terrible and stayed until yesterday. I am the biggest wimp but I think I have done quite well. Tonight I wanted to go out with my husband to watch the world cup game between the USA and England and he put me off. I don't know why? Tomorrow I will go out for the first time since having it done. I don't know about you but it feels wierd. Until today I did not feel hungry but today I do. I am eating just slimfast, heinz soups and I had some angel delight today. I didnt expect to feel so hungry to be honest and it is difficult not to go down to the cupboard and get a bar of chocolate and suck it until it becomes liquid. How are you finding it? Are you hungry yet? What did your husband think of your decision. Mine wasn't too keen to be honest. How are you feeling generally? And where do you live? I guess we aren't alone in feeling lonely. Your message has made me feel better thanks Jayne -
Hi I wondered if you have had your band done yet. I went to Belgium under Christian De Bruyne this week and had it done on Tuesday. The hospital and Chris De Bruyne and Frederik were great. I don't regret going there at all. I must tell you if you havent booked it already to contact chris de burgh direct. It is a lot cheaper than going through an agency. I paid 4150 euro which included taxis and hotel bill. An irish girl was there with me and she had paid 7000 euro. Let me know how you have got on. Jayne
