Ok...so Spring has Sprung in NC and so have my allergies. Taking my Zyrtec and occasional Benadryl to combact the pollen war. The post nasal drip is killing me. It seems that my phelgm is making me get stuck (sliming). I have to drink a warm liquid before and sometimes during eating just to get the food down. Anyone else have this problem? What do you do. Thanks Bunches

Post Op 10 Days... Questions!!!!!
saraannie replied to aManicCookie's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I too lost a considerable amount of weight on my pre-op diet. Then little to nothing, I talked to my MD and she said that my body was probably in shock and in survivor mode. Give it another few days and you will see a drop on the scale. 27lbs is AWESOME!!!! Remember, you did not put the weight on quickly, so it won't come off quickly . Good luck with new lifestyle and keep up the good work!!! -

eating 1200 cals post op!!!!!
saraannie replied to oceangirl6's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I range between 1200 and 1500, due to my high metabolisim, and the fact that I am very active at work. I am 6 weeks out today and have 30lbs. I have yet to feel starved. Some days I eat less and some more, depends how Junior (my band's name) feels that day. Best of luck to you!!1 -
Did my my first fill under flouro, and the PA said my port had tipped, She was able to get it on the first try. Did they not use numbing spray? I felt nothing, just looked down and saw a needle sticking out of my belly, kinda freaky. but did not feel a thing

Have not named my band , but I named my pouch...Junior and my stomach Senior. My sister will ask how's junior, after I eat, I say full, or something silly like Junior's happy, but Senior is starving. I know I am a dork. At the moment, both are feeling good.

Just had my 1st fill on tues. Had .5cc put in, I started with 5 cc in a 10 cc band. (Yes, I know that seems like a lot) So that puts me at 5.5cc. I had it done under flouro, so everything is a ok. Here's my question....Is it normal to feel the band? Am I just swollen? liquids are going down, but I have to drink really, really REALLY slow. Now I am wondering it I am too tight? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks Bunches!!!

Some days I can eat the legs off of a chair and others I struggle to keep mushies down. I have yet to have my 1st fill (having on on 3/1). Is it normal to be tight one day and not the next? I have been given the green light to eat solids and I have been following all the rules. Makes planning meals difficult, if I don't know if I will get stuck. Any advice is helpful Thanks Bunches

Went out last night, had Vodka martini's, so no extra cals, I was able to drink like I used too, but felt it this am.....err seeing as I am not able to eat as much. Lesson learned from now on, more food and less liquor.

saraannie replied to Patti.Ramsey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt good on day three, was taking my Jack Russell for walks. Was driving on day 4. Two weeks out and been at work for 4 days, (work for TJMaxx). Tired when I come home. Just remember your protein, you should be fine -
What's with all the burping?
saraannie replied to catthegrape's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have overcome the burping and moved on to passing gas, just "tooting" along, I hope this gets under control soon....geez loiuse!!! -
I was allowed to eat creamy soups, I got some of the soup at hands, good quick snack. I also found a recipe for buffalo chicken soup, very satisfying. I use Pure Protein powder and mix it with skim milk, fruit and ice, makes it more hardy. I also put in plain low fat yogurt , makes it thick and creamy. Invest in a good blender. I am on the downward slope to the mushies, can't wait for the mashed potatoes, and cottage cheese. Good luck and mmm....mmm...good!!

Well, I was doing so well. but Thursday I began experiencing a dull pain on my left side, I guess it could be gas, but I am 8 days post op. Is gas still possible? The pain gets worse after I eat or drink anything, (mostly drinking, still on liquids). I have an appt on next Thursday. Should I wait or call Monday if it doesn't get better? Could it be an adverse reaction to the band, or am I just worrying for no reason? any advice would be helpful....thanks bunches!!

OMG!!! I feel like I constantly have to belch, or hiccup. I ate some creamy chix /rice Soup on day 3, I tried to eat broth only but I guess some rice got through. I had my 1st stuck, yikes that hurt like hell, and I had to lay flat so the dern thing would get unstuck. Have not had much of an appetite, my new stomach (I call it junior) seems full but senior is very grumbley. I am guess the belch/hiccup feeling will go away with the gas pain (which haven't been that bad. Just wanted to share any advice on belchy feeling Sara

Incisions feel fine....but...
saraannie replied to saraannie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Kelly, I was banded 2 days after you on the 20th. My surgeon has me on a strict diet, 2 wk liquid before, (lost 10lbs) and 2 week liquid after (no chunky pieces). It is awesome that you were able to eat grilled chicken salad and had no problems. I forgot to ask if I had any Fluid in band, I'll ask on the 3rd. I weigh everyday, I know I shouldn't but I can't help it. Staying steady at 220. YAY!! It was nice to hear from someone who is going through some of the same stuff and has a banded date so close to mine. Good luck! Let me know how you are doing. -

I like the Pure Protein one at Target, very smooth and yummy. I am post surgery, I have a chocolate with rasberries in it YUMMMY!!!! -
Hi all, This is my second day and I have to say it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I slept most of the day yesterday. My gas pains did not start until about 1pm today and have not been bad. I have had to burp, but am kinda of afraid. I am little hungry but have been drinking my 4oz every hour, some with Protein, some with out. I hope it stays this way. So glad I did it, NO REGRETS!!!

Hey all, I am being banded on the 20th, 2 days away, so excited. I am a manager for a TJMaxx, and am planning on taking 10 days off for recovery, any other retailers out there? How long did you stay out for? I am in charge of the sales floor and am rarely in the office, and my store is GI-NORMOUS ~44000 sqft, so lots of walking etc. Any advice is helpful. Thanks!!! Sara
