Anyone know of Dr De Bruyne Chris
janesunny replied to susanlondon's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
i booked with europe surgery when you do you just call the london office when ever you need to know anything. The packages are the same you know but it just means that you get support when you have had the band fitted when your not seeing chris or fredrick. These are some of the things i found out. high Protein foods take longer to digest so meat which is mainly protein takes a long time to break down. Red meat is the worst for us, but i think this is alright because red meat in general in large amounts is not good for anyone and its not like we are totally banned from it you just have to cut down on it. rice like you say it swells up, you can see that when you drop some into Water it gets loads larger in half an hour, we have made a small stomach now we don't want something that swells up so much. White bread again bad just takes a long time to digest. Again white bread we are not banned from it just smaller amounts. I think really the band the main problems are large amounts of white bread and large amounts of red meat, neither is good for us so really its just steering us away from food that not great health wise anyway. Rice does not have many vits in it either so thats no great loss and does not have a fantastic taste so i am not that bothered. if i could have lost the weight without the band i would have done but i knew i could not i tried for years so i don't mind cutting down on the few things i have too now. Celery and citrus fruits have just got too much fibre in them, and fibre again takes ages to digest and go through the band. -

Great to be friends on facebook we can do that instant messaging stuff my aim If my plan goes ok, I can wear a nice dress at Christmas, that's my goal! I know I won't quite be to target, but it will be nice to go shopping for a relatively "normal" sized dress instead of passing rails of floral tents hoping to find something reasonably fashionable. I'm really chuffed actually, I've managed to get my BMI down this year is going to be the year for me because i started very big, and i been doing this slowly and steadly. -

well done mini for starting this journey , you have a while to your wedding, I bet your very excited about losing the weight for it? This has been the best thing I have done for myself , the weight has come off slowly and steady and what i have managed has stayed off.I don't bother with the gym i walk my dog every day instead. I brought him about 4 years ago so that he guilt trips me into walking him. -

This is so true for me too. I could live off chocolate and wine! I think I am going to have to totally ban myself from both of them. -

I have also heard biotin is also good, some people have whey protein to check there protein in take is good, and just make sure you get lots of b vitamins. I also heard that iodine is meant to be good because sometimes losing hair is to do with low thyroid function have you had your checked out by your GP? -

i could not fault chris de bruyne or his team at all there is a few people on here saying they went to places in the uk don't know why in a chris de bryune thread maybe they work for another surgeon...! but chris is lovely and the aftercare in the uK is great!there is always someone you can get here on the uk london number if your worried about anything and they always get back to me staright away about questions i have . the band fills i do sometimes in manchester with freddy and sometimes in london, depending where my daughter is working. -

hi not been on here for a while my self! just wondered how everyone else was getting on the weight is slowly comming offf for me , but then i was a very big bird to start with its hard not to get back into the bad old ways of the cocolate mousses! I did not mind at all going to brussels for the operation its only 2 hours fom london on the train and like 'happy flower' says then you get the surgeon with the lowest complication rate in europe. there is a help line here in the uk with europesurgery so really you get the same easy contact as you get here but the best surgeon! lets be honest if you call a large hospital here youjust get some receptionist who has nothing to do with the surgeon you had operate on you where with chris you get help straight away..and its cheaper. but anyway no matter where you go we are all on the same journey, the g band journey and i am very glad i am on it!! -

bless you I feel the same i can't remember not looking at my self and not feeling fat so i think i was about 8 when i started to be over weight. It is good booking wth chris because of the uk office you can call when your worried about anything, which is better than many in the uk because you don't always get to talk to someone who knows everything when you call some large hosptital in the Uk. Don't worry about aftercare you just see chris in the Uk I go to london but other girls on here go to other places. -

Hey well done you newies for booking! i booked about a year ago calling the UK office europe surgery for chris and i had all hotels included in the price too. You will not regret it its great to have someone you can call whenever you have problems. BTTurkey just stick to the low fat diet i think a lot of the shakes you can add water to instead of milk, just doing the 10 days liquid only was quite hard but worth it ! it was the start to my weight loss. Its a start of a new journey for you all but its great buying the new clothes this year in the sales in a lower size ! well done girl and gentleman and happy new year !!
