Hey all, the other night i was sitting in bed watching tv, and one of those paid programming things came on. It was about a program by a Bariatric Surgeon called Amaze Rx. It said that all the people they had shown on it, had Lap Band surgery, and were doing this Amaze Rx, which is like shakes you drink. It claims, you can lose 1 pound a day. Im just wondering if anyone has heard of this first of all, and second if anyone has tried it and does it work/is it worth it? If any of you all could let me know, Id appreciate it. Thanks All. Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome, I was diagnosed with it about a month and a half ago, Look it up, Could be the answer to some of your symptoms. Also tell your cardiologist about it, Its very very hard to diagnose, But should show up on an EKG. Good Luck. ~Hotpink~

Hey, I can answer this for ya NO problem. I specifically asked my dietitian(sp?) about this because i too looked at my crystal light packages and saw that it had citric acid. They told me, no PURE citric acid stuff, like Orange juice, Grape fruit juice....Oranges, Grapefruit....Lemons, Limes....Stuff like that for at least 6 months after surgery, after that, its fine. They told me that the citric acid found in crystal light, is not the same kind, and will not harm you at all, and in addition there isnt enough in the crystal light to do anything. Its citric acid in pure form such as orange juice, oranges etc.....If you are a orange juice lover, try the orange sunrise crystal light, tastes just like orange juice, and its safe!! Hey, don't be worried! Depending how long you stay in the hospital, they DO give you shots, Heparin shots to make sure that you do not get a blood clot. The highest risk for getting a blood clot is when you are being put under. I should know, I got a blood clot after surgery and it traveled to my lung. Im only 20 years old, so it can happen to anyone. I assure you though DO NOT worry about getting a blood clot, its its extremely rare. I am only the 2nd person that has had one that my surgeon has ever done so thats pretty rare. No worries, if you are worried that much, talk to your surgeon, and ask if you could maybe get an extra shot or so if your worried, or ask him if he can put you on Lovenox shots a week before your surgery, and/or after your surgery. I think you are all being way too harsh on her, I know how she feels exactly. People that care alot about you, are seeing that your not eating much and they want you to eat more. I highly doubt, she is bulimic....nor is she wanting to do this. LAY OFF people, This board is for SUPPORT, not for you to come on here, and post snotty comments to her because she is having a hard time...just back off, all you gotta say is i understand how you feel maybe you could try this.....NOT point out whats wrong with her. ~Hotpink~

Hey, Id have to agree with you on that one, They say not to get in any extra air, and I agree with that, Its very painful....But no matter what I do, I either get TONS of air bubbles in my Protein drinks, or It creates a film at the top, and the "sludge" in the bottom of the glass, Stirring the Protein powder in DOES NOT work either, You either have to blend it, or Use one of those shaker glasses. It has had me so frustrated, Ive just stopped using the protein powders all together and lord knows I need tons more protein. If anyone could shed some light on this topic, itd be greatly appreciated. ~Hotpink~

Im losing my hair, very very VERY Badly. Im only 20 years old and I am desperate for anyone to tell me how to stop my hair loss. I am sitting here bawling as I write this. Id much rather be fat with a full head of hair, then skinny and bald. I dont know what to do. Im taking my vitamins, im getting in protein, and im taking a pill called Hair Skin and Nails. Even if I just run my hand through my hair, a handful of hair comes out. How long is this going to last for? Will I eventually go bald? Will I have bald patches? I am half tempted to get this stupid band taken off of my stomach, It has caused me so many problems and nearly killed me. Please just someone I beg you to help me, Tell me how to keep my hair. ~Hotpink~

Hey all, so i wrote the other day about how i had my 2nd fill last thursday, and how for the first couple days i couldnt even keep Water down.......well I can keep fluids down now..But its been 6 days since i have been able to keep food down. I keep trying, ive tried cheese, cottage cheese, refried Beans.....none of it will stay down at all!!!!!!! Im wondering if i should give it another week or so, or if I should call my surgeon and get another unfill? I currently have 2cc's in a 4cc band. I can drink all i want and it goes down, granted if i take a big enough drink i have to wait a few mins before taking another drink....but for some reason food just isnt staying down. I just got done throwing up cheese...three times!!! I dont know what to do. I am so frustrated, I dont want to loosen my band and be able to eat a lot, yet i dont want to keep throwing up either because i know it can make the band slip. For gosh sakes i lost 8 pounds...in 2 days, because i couldnt keep anything down. I like the fact that im dropping the weight faster, but in a VERY unhealthy way. So the question is....how long would you wait to go get another unfil....since its been 6 days since ive had ANY kind of solid food, even mushy food. If anyone could give me any input on this ASAP i would appreciate it greatly. Thanks all! ~Hotpink~

Thanks for all the replies, I think I will call my surgeon tomorrow....Ive probably thrown up at least 20 times since last thursday. Yogurt and Applesauce go down sometimes it depends on when i try it. Ive tried everything i possibly can. I eat 2 bites and bam it comes back up. My surgeon has said when im at the right level i should be eating 1cup - 1 1/2 cups of food at a time....2 bites deff isnt that, not even 1/4 cup. My stomach hurts, I just hope i havent made my band slip, If i lose this band I lose the hope of ever being normal. Thanks again guys!! ~Hotpink~

So its been awhile since ive written, and that is beacuse i havent had any problems what so ever....UNTIL NOW! I had my first fill 4 weeks ago of 1.5 cc's in a 4cc band. Yesterday i had my second fill, at first he put in 1 cc, but it was too tight, so he took out .5cc's, SO now my total is 2cc's in a 4cc band. Well i drank a sip of Water in the hospital when i got the fill and it went down, when i got home last night, i tried to take my medication and i threw it back up, then later that night i took a drink of iced tea and it came right back up. Today i have been drinking or rather taking VERY small sips of water and it still comes back up, I tired eating some refried Beans and it comes back up. Very rarely does the water i drink stay down. It feels almost as if there is a whole bunch of gas trapped in my stomach that wont come out, and when i take a drink of water it upsets it and i get pain like its stuck, and then my throat starts girgling and eventually i throw up the water, or burp and im all better. My question is.....Should i demand an unfil? I called the surgeon today and he said to just wait it out it should go away, but i cannot even drink WATER......im so so so SO thirsty yet i cannot drink anything but tiny sips of water. Im at my wits end here, I dont know what to do. Im so frustrated. If anyone has went through this, or has any advice for me, PLEASE let me know....Im desperate!!!! Thanks all. ~Hotpink~

Hey all, I was just wondering if any of you caught American Idol tonite? DID YOU FREAKING SEE BLAKES PERFORMANCE.....OH MY GOD. That was the HOTTEST thing i have ever ever EVER seen. I nearly died. Chris's performance was extremely hot as well....but Blakes...Oh my freaking gosh....WOW. You all may not agree with me, But im 20....hormones out of control...it was sexy as can be. LOL. Well I just thought i would share that with you all. Im going to take a cold shower now lol. ~Hotpink~

Im not sure what exactly you all are talking about, or why you had to have Barium for a Fluoro for your Fill. I never had to have any kind of barium for my fluoro. I just layed on a table, and he took pictures, filled me i drank Water that was it. I did have to do a barium swallow the day after my surgery before i was able to go home. The stuff didnt taste too bad at all, and I only had to take 4 little sips of it. I also had to drink some barium stuff for my CT scan i had....Wasnt too bad either and i had to drink a foam glass full of it. Im no sure what kind of barium you all have....maybe you should import it from michigan huh? Doesnt taste too bad here. Good luck to you all. ~Hotpink~

Hell yeah!!!! The original is awesome, but Blake's version was HOT very very HOT. Im a HUGE Bon Jovi Fan....he is hot...even though he is old enough to be my father. I just thought Blake did an awesome job. Im sure there will be some pretty pissed off hard core fans, but thats ok. I hate to say it, But i prefer Blake's Verison...over Bon Jovi's...But the Bon Jovi version will always be the original.....its been quite a long time since that song has been released...I think its time to give it a new life though. Hey all i was banded March 13th 2007, and i had my first fill of 1.5cc's in a 4cc band this past Monday so its been about 5 days since my fill. Before my fill i could eat relatively normal stuff and normal portions, deff less than before being banded but overall a regular portion. I could get down bread and Pasta and everything before the fill. Well since the fill, at first if i drank too much the liquid would get suck and take awhile to go down, i dont have a problem with that anymore i can drink regularly. When i eat now i can eat maybe a whole lean cuisine meal and be full, or tonite i had a half of salmon pattie that i made, and maybe a cup of macaroni and cheese with tomatoes, green peppers and onions in it. Having had 1.5cc's in my 4cc band am i eating too much by being able to eat 1 cup of macaroni and cheese and a half of salmon pattie? I had that for dinner and a lean cuisine for lunch and thats all i had all day long. Usually a lean cuisine is enough for me at one sitting.....are you hungrier at dinner time so you can eat more then or something? Im just worried that i may be eating too much and im worried that i may be stretching my pouch out. I dont get the tightness feeling in the chest when full, i dont really know when im full until after the fact. I do know that i need to slowwwww down when i eat, but that is very very difficult to do. I guess i need a little reassureance. So if you could tell me am i eating too much or how do i know when im full? Just HELP lol. Anyways thanks all i look forward to hearing your responses. ~Hotpink~

Hey all, Ive noticed on here and on Obesity Help that some people have a program where you can put in a full body picture of the way you look like now, and it shows you what you might look like when you are at your goal weight. Kinda like a virtual make over thing. I was just wondering if anyone knew where i could find someone like that for free online? Im curious to see what i might look like at my goal weight since i have never been skinny in my entire life. Im 5'8 and my starting weight was 322, now at 287, so im quite curious. If anyone could let me know i would greatly appreciate it. Even if someone has the program i would gladly send you my picture and let you do it and then you could send the picture back to me, i just really want to know. The day or the day after my fill i dropped like 3 or 4 pounds, now its standing still again, but i also did just finish my period, infact its not completely finished yet so im not sure if im losing or not. Hopefully it will go soon. Sometimes when i eat i feel pain like ugggh i ate too much but it isnt until after the fact. I just am really really scared about my band slipping or eroding or my pouch stretching, I dont want to lose my band at all for any reason, I would cry nonstop if i did. I want to be "normal" so badly, Though i guess if i lost my band there is always RNY...but that scares the crap out of me. So i guess im doing ok then, im trying to eat less and less. Hey all, so my surgery was on March 13th and i had my very first fill yesterday! I have a 10cm 4cc band, and i have 1.5cc's in it right now, And i can totally feel it. The doctor was going to try to put 3cc's for my first fill because he doesnt want to poke me that many times for fills since im on blood thinners. He did it differently then he usually does. Usually you lay on the table, and he takes a fluro picture and does the fill, then you sit up and drink something to see if it goes dow, well i did both at the same time. I layed on the table and he took the picture, he had to do it quite a few times because he saw that my port was tilted al ittle bit, not flipped thank god but just tilted. So then he got out a needle and he numbed the spot, then he put in the fill needle, and then he had me sit up on the table, with the needle still sticking out from my stomach...SO COOL lol. Then he filled it with 3 cc's and had me drink Water to see if it would go down, it didnt so he took some out, still didnt, took more out, still didnt so he took all of it out and it went down, the feeling was sooooooooooooooooo freaking cool. It was like pressure in my chest and i could feel the water filling up and then in a few seconds it was gone, so cool. Then we ended up doing that again, and 1.5cc's ended up being enough. I was told to be on liquids for the rest of the day yesterday, and today to do mushies. So i just had some mashed tatoes a little bit ago and i only ate 1/2 cup and i can really really feel it, and i have a bit of pain too, so ITS WORKING!!!! WOO HOO. Hey i also use the Tylenol Rapid Blast Extra Strength...works wonders. I infact just got back from the drug store getting some because its that time of the month and it is HORRIBLE right now. Why is it horrible, for one they took my birth control pills away because of the blood clot i had, and my period is a million times worse because of the blood thinners they have me on. Congrats to me. Anyways I get my tylenol at Rite Aid. You should try it, it works great. Have a good day all. ~Hotpink~

No he just said it was tilted, he said he wouldnt have to go in and fix it, cause im not suppose to have any more surgery anyways, because of the blood clot i have in my lung so nope but it was just so cool. ~Hotpink~

Hey, I am SO glad your ok and that it is not a blood clot, those arent fun believe me, im only 20 and had one, imagine that. I am also very very sorry if i scared you to death i didnt mean to do that, your symptoms just sounded like the exact same as mine and that worried me. Yeah, most blood clots that go to the lung, also known as Pulmonary Embolisms do not have symptoms and are not found until the person dies from it, i just happen to have been lucky enough to have pain, that didnt get better when i took a muscle relaxer so i went to the ER. Its a very very painful pain sharp stabbing like, and it only happens when you breathe in or move just right, its not fun at all. Im so glad i informed her about the fact that she may have a blood clot, but sorry i scared her, didnt mean to do that. So now you all know, if you have a sharp pain when you breathe in on either the left or right side, that is right under your breast then GO GET IT CHECKED, it may not be harmless gas, it could be a blood clot. Not to worry you, But i had that same exact pain, whenever i took a deep breathe it was the worst pain i had ever felt, like someone was stabbing a knife into my side, not fun. Anyways point is, the pain i had was because of a blood clot in my lung. They say usually the type of blood clot i had kills people before it is even detected, so if you still are having pain, please go to the ER immediately and call your surgeon and get checked out. I dont know about any of you but i am SO glad Sanjaya is gone. It was sad that he got kicked off because he did cry, but it was about time that he left. It was down to him and lakisha and if she went home i was going to be pissed. Ding dong the bad singer is gone. As cute and loving as sanjaya seemed, he just wasnt meant to be a singer. Jordan...Jordin...is one of mytop picks, that girl is just amazing. She has an amazing voice, and is so pretty, Melinda is another one....Besides looks with Chris and Blake, i dont really feel that the guys are that great this year.
