Well, here goes!  I'm 49, have been obese since I was 20.  I'm just beginning to have health problems like borderline diabetes, my knees hurt, my hips hurt, etc.  I'm not terminally unique, my story's similar to most everyone else's!  The only thing that may be different is that I am a recovering alcoholic and have been sober for 14 years.  If anyone out there has experience with the lap band and sobriety, I'd love to hear from you.  The people at Dr. Quilici's office have been super so far.  I haven't had any response from my psych eval, so I assume everything's cool.  I only have one seminar and a support group left to go until I start the liquid diet.
