Hi, I am going to try and change this chain if that is ok. I need some help and was hoping to get a few answers. I just got my second fill and the restriction is very tight. I have the VG band and am filled to 5.2 right now. I cannot swallow liquid in the morning and very little in the afternoon. Is this normal? does it last forever? will I be able to eat again??? Any tips would be helpful. Thanks

    November Bandsters!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING. First I am thankful for my faith. Then, I am thankful that I can eat clear liquids, I am thankful that I had the money to pay for the band, I am thankful for all of your support, I am thankful that my biggest problem today is that I can't eat turkey. I am thankful that my Band life will be focused on life not food. Have a thankful day everyone !!! Terri

    November Bandsters!

Well, I did it. Banded Friday and home today in my nice comfy bed. Dr. Ortiz and team were wonderful and thankfully I only live 45 minutes away. I met some awesome girls and while in the waiting room a very skinny hot girl and I like guys walked in and had the surgery two years ago and lost 100 lbs. She was so beautiful not because she was skinny because she was beaming and felt great from the inside out. Nice to see and I want that. How about you girls. Well the clears start now for a week or so and we will see how that goes. The gas pains not too bad. I got the VG for some reason. Must of had tooooo much fat around the stomach but I could have told them that I wonder what changes that brings to the table . I did not study up on the VG. Thanks, for the support gals. Terri

    November Bandsters!

Becka, I agree with you. I am too tired of being tired. I am adopting a little 6 year old and I want to be able to be active in sports with her, have the energy to be great at work and great as a mom and all that extra weight really does hinder you. I am going in to be banded in the morning and will let you know how it goes. I have not been able to sleep all night long because I am so excited. Only worried about never being able to eat certain things again and that is just plain old silly. I am tired food ruling my emotions and am sure that part will be harder than the surgery. Hang in there- you can do it, once and for all. No more YO YO YO YO YO YO YO YO. Terri

    November Bandsters!

Well today is the last day on preop and I get banded tomorrow. I still am a bit confused about the diet the next couple of weeks. I am such a picky eater that I am worried. I cannot handle the taste or smell of the protein shakes so I am worried I will have enough strength. I would be grateful if anyone can share what their first couple days looked like in food intake.

    November Bandsters!

Hi everyone, thanks for the encouragement. I had a good day today. I just need to make it through wed and thur and I'll be ready to go. I noticed some of you talking about the lumb in your throat. I was wondering if this is acid reflex. I feel like I have been struggling with this the last month or so. Will this get worse after surgery and is there something they will recommend for post surgery issues. Also, thanks for all the recipes- some of you are very creative. Terri

    November Bandsters!

Hi everyone, Boy I am really blowing it. How can I do this long term if I can't even go two weeks on the pre op diet. I could not take any more and had 2 slices of pizza tonight after 10 days of following the instructions. I weighed today and gained 4 pounds. No possible way. I think I have eaten less than 500 calories per day. I think it just freaked me out. I have surgery on Friday I hope I did not ruin my chance of having the surgery. After I ate it I had visions of them cutting me open and that stupid pizza sitting on my liver- got to laugh or I will cry. I only have 3 more days and I pray I can make it. I

    November chat...again....

Hi everyone, has anyone had problems with acid reflex after surgery? I am worried because the last two months I have a what feels like a lump in the back of my throat and I am not sure if it goes away after surgery. I sure hope it does when I loose weight. It seems to have started when I packed on the last 10 pounds. Any suggestions?
  11. I too am being banded by Dr. Ortiz. I went to the clinic to talk to him and his staff and they were wonderful and gave me a tour and answered all my questions. Easy trip for me because I live just north of San Diego but when I was there I met people that flew in from all over the country. Top notch facility. $8500

    November Bandsters!

Hi Grace, nice to know there are fellow believers out there. I am having surgery on Nov 17 and struggling with the pre op diet. I am just not a protein shake kinda girl. I emailed the doc and she said to have 1 piece of dry wheat toast for breakfast and a lean cuisine for lunch and then one for dinner. I started that today. What has been the hardest part for you so far and how is the eating adjustment going? I think I have lost 7 pounds this past week and hope to loose another 5 before surgery. Fill me in on how things are going for you or anyone out there. I need to make it through this week. Terri
