    Any Michigan Peeps?

I'm in Holland, near Grand Rapids. I see Dr. schram. Love him! I have surgery on Monday! Converting from the lap band to a sleeve.
  2. I am revising on May 11th! I am so excited and so nervous at the same time. I am sure you all felt the same way...But I really hate that I am going through this again and wish it would have all worked out with the Lap Band. Nine years ago when I got my band, I never thought I would be in the same spot I was before getting the band. Now here I am...weighing 245 pounds and eating like a complete pig AGAIN. I am so ready for this. All of your success stories give me lots of hope. :-)
  3. I can't believe this is really happening. I'm only a week and a half away. Somehow I have gotten lucky and only have to do a 2 day pre op diet (I was expected at least a week). Between now and then i know I'm probably going to eat an insane amount of food. But I'm ready to say goodbye to the foods that I was constantly going overboard on. I'm at peace knowing I'll never be able to eat the way I am now ever again. This is what I wanted in 2006 when I got the lap band. But somehow I've ended up almost right back where I started. My pre lap band weight was 285. I'm now at 250. 50 of those pounds, I gained in the last 6 months. Let's get this show on the road.
  4. Looking like May 11th for me. Revision from a lap band to the sleeve. Today is my pre op medical clearance. Tomorrow I meet with the doctor to go over all the details. Then Thursday I meet with the dietician to go over pre op and post op eating guidelines. Holy crap! I can't believe it's only 2 weeks away!
  5. Has anyone on here had it done in one procedure? Please share your story. My doc is going to try to do it in one procedure. I was banded in 2006.
  6. I would love to hear stories from those who have been converted from a lap band to a sleeve. My revision was approved and I will most likely have mine done all in one procedure at the end of April. Was your revision done in one or two procedures? What is it like compared to the lap band? Thanks!!!
  7. I'm having my band taken out and the sleeve done in one procedure. My doc didn't seem to really be worried. Good luck!

    Denver Lap Band Doctor

Thank you so much. Eventually, I will have to go. I got banded here in Texas, and just spent a week in Denver. Well, while I was up there, my band was REALLY tight, because of the altitude. My doctor here in Texas told me that's normal, and that I may have to get some liquid taken out once I move. So, I know I will have to find a doctor soon I'm sure. Thank you so much and I will look into both options!
  11. I am moving to Denver this week. I had the Lap-Band surgery about a year ago. Well, now I need to find a new doctor, one that I can go to if I were to have any problems or need another fill. Any suggestions?
  12. Hi there. I go to a Doctor in Hurst, at a Surgery Center near Highway 121 & Precinct Line Rd. My doctor is Dr. Marsden. Unfortunately, he doesn't ever do my fills. It's usually done by another physician. But they do a pretty good job. Not to mention, there are several doctors that work out of that Surgery Center. And, yes, they do take insurance. I live in North Arlington, and it only takes me about 10 minutes to get there. They have a website. Lap Band Weight Loss Surgery | AIGB If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me. Good luck.
  13. So, I've had my band for about 8 months now. Within the last week, I have noticed some pain where my port is. It's not severe, just a little uncomfortable. It almost feels like a gas cramp, or a cramp you get when you are running. I have lost around 40 pounds, and a lot of it has come from my abdomen. My port is definitely a lot easier to feel now. You don't have to press very hard to feel it. I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same kind of issue, after losing weight. I don't see my doctor all that regularly, only if I have any problems. And I would like to avoid having to go in.

    choking in your sleep

I have had the same problems. I have not have my band touched for almost four months now. I feel the tightness is right where it needs to be. A couple of months ago, I had this problem every night for about a week. Then it stopped. But then occasionally, it will happen again. In fact, it happened to me on July 4th. But I hadn't eaten anything for like 12 hours! And when it does happen, my lungs are in pain the next day. When I breath in, it will hurt in my chest and back. I haven't talked to my doctor about it, because it doesn't happen as much. But if it happened frequently, I would. I wouldn't be able to deal with it, if it happened nightly. Not to mention, the tightness of my band is always changing. One day, I am able to eat a good amount. Other days, it's hard keeping things down.

    4th Fill Coming & FRUSTRATED!!

I am having the exact same problem! Your case is almost identical to mine. I had my surgery Nov. 6th. I have had 3 fills. I am getting my 4th on Wednesday. I haven't gotten a fill since the beginning of February, because I can't really eat in the mornings, and at the beginning of the fill, I had troubles eating in the evenings too. Well that changed. Now, I can eat almost anything I want in the evenings, and I am starting to be able to eat in the mornings. Plus my portions are normal! And that's wrong! I do eat slowly though. It's all weird. So I am definitely getting another fill. I am having to get it in the late afternoon though, because my band is tight in the morning. As far as the stomach growling, it's horrible. My stomach growls so loud and hard now, it's embarrassing. I can't believe my stomach can make that sort of noise. Good luck with your fill...and I hope everything goes better for you.
