    Pure protein bar

Will you let us know if the pure Protein made you sick? I have been sampling different food options for post surgery. I tried two pure Protein Bars...I thought they would be safe. The NUT told me anything under 5g sugar per serving would be fine. Was she wrong? (She didnt seem to have her act together so it wouldnt shock me.)

    Gallstones *after* surgery?

My DR insists on removing the gallbladder after surgery for everyone. He said it is common to get gallstones. He wont do it during the surgery which I find annoying b/c I would rather only have 1 procedure. I have had gallstone attacks in the past. They are very painful. They feel like a freight train just ran you over.
  3. @@bikrchk, @@NavyMom2006, @@livvsmum, @@Sleeverino Thank you for your responses. It gives me a degree of peace.....I appreciate your honesty. I feel as if I am approaching a cliff and hearing your stories give me more strength to jump off the cliff and know that it will be ok. It is the most frightening thing I have done in my life.
  4. Thank you for your input. I am not scared at all about the procedure or the pain. I am scared about how life will be afterwards. In 3 months will I regret my decision....will I watch my husband eat anything he wants and be jealous.....
  5. Thank you all for your replies. Beni, it sounds like you and I think alike. I am a planner in every sense of the word. I like to plan for and think about the worst case scenario.... I do it with every part of my life ....I hope it will all be ok...but I am fearful of the process. It is hard to imagine what life will be like on the other side... I don't have kids so I can't relate to the childbirth stories.....but I can imagine it is similar...life will never be the same and it will be hard work!
  6. Thank you. I tried the unjury packets on my last trip so I could test it out. I learned a valuable lesson...that I also need to bring my blender ball cups...I tried oversized plastic cups but I couldnt get it to mix well.....I prefer the Unjury with soy milk which many hotels dont sell in their shops...but at least I can ship the soy milk b/c it isnt refrigerated. This is my time to learn what will work for me so I am prepared on my next trip which will be after my surgery. Thanks for your suggestions and support. I need it and I appreciate it.
  7. Thanks for your post. I travel alot for work and how to survive travel once I have the surgery is a fear of mine. (surgery will be in December) Most of my travel is 2-3 weeks at a time visiting 2-3 cities ....half the time I dont have a car....so I have to figure out how to pack or ship what I need to survive the trip. Any hints for what to do in airports or on planes? My average day of flying is roughly 12-14 hours so I would need multiple Snacks. Thanks.

I can't even imagine what it would be like...

Thank you everyone for your answers. I have the same concerns as Flutterfly19. It is a foreign concept to not be able to turn to food for everything....you all seem like you have such a handle on your eating and that seems foreign to me. I am an event planner so I tend to think out every detail and try to plan how to make things work and for the life of me I cant seem to figure out what my day to day life will be like without turning to food the way I always have. I equate it to all of a sudden moving to Mars. I have to find strength in the fact that it seems to work out for most people.
  9. Thank you so much for your help and answers. I appreciate it.
  10. I have my final DR appointment on 2/20 and should have the surgery shortly after that. food has been my friend for so long...and I know my relationship with food will be very different after the surgery. Was it very hard for you to adjust how you ate and what you ate? I wonder what I will do when I am sad or frustrated and cant turn to chocolate....I cant imagine not always having candy in the house. Are your food cravings less than they were before surgery? Any insight you can offer would be very much appreciated. It is a very big scary step to take. Thank you.

    February/March 2014 sleevers

Hi Everyone....I have my final appointment with DR on 2/20 and should get my date shortly after that. Is anyone else frightened at the thought of such a drastic change? I am overwhelmed that this is a lifetime commitment since I failed at every other attempt to loose weight. I will miss all of my comfort foods and will have to find other ways to get comfort. It is starting to feel very real now that it is January and I am slightly terrified. Anyone else feeling the same? Thanks.

    Hawaii pre & post bansters

Aloha Everyone...I am new to the forum. I have been thinking about LB surgery for a while. My husband just got a new job and we can pick between HMSA and Kaiser insurance. Does anyone have feedback as to which may be better to get the surgery with. The cost of the surgery is overwhelming to me. Thank you.
