I have always LOVED chicken caesar salads. Yes, I know, not the healthiest salad. I have been craving one for a couple weeks now. Next week I can eat whatever (you know the 3 oz protein, 1/2 cup veggies, and poss 1/4 cup starch) I may wait another week, not sure before I try a salad. I go for my first fill on the 25th. But I figure if I make sure to eat the chicken first I can have some of the salad, I hope.

I think you are eating to low of calories. I had sx the 20th and I had been eating 600-700 calories last week and going to the gym. I stalled at a week out. I think the combination of the two, eating so low calories and trying to work out) is what did it. I upped my calories and skipped the gym this week and the scale has since moved. Yesterday I managed to eat 1100 calories and so I am going to go to the gym today. Unfortunately I ate a bunch of the calories at night and I think I found out what happens when I over eat, I started having back pains for no other reason (I had been watching TV), so I figure it was from eating to much and not listening to myself. So I will try to spread out the calories more today. So, yes I believe if you are stalled, definitely try to up your calories. My goal is to get to at least 1200 calories per day. Be easier next week when I can start eatin normally, the 3 oz Protein, 1/2 cup veggies and maybe 1/4 cup starch

Don't worry, I lost the first week too and the stalled. I think since I am starting to eat more calories now weight loss is starting again, so don't worry -
December 2010 Bandsters out there?
Jess55 replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That is actually one of the other things I am trying to do is up my calories, but the thing is my days off are tues/wed, and I've been waking up a little late and I do not feel hungry right when I wake up anymore (since banding) so I've been eating breakfast later which pushes my meals back and I have been filling up with what I am eating and it lasts a few hours or more, so it is hard for me to get more calories in, because I don't want to start eating if I am not hungry. IYesterday I managed 830 calories, today I am below 700. I get hungrier when I am at work, so I am going to try to up it tomorrow. But I do beleive that the low calories is hindering the loss. The other day when my mom called I was trying to tell her that and she does not beleive too low calories will hinder your loss, I believe it will. -
Trying to make a list, can you help?

I really like the Unjury brand shakes, you can only get them online. I have the myoplex lite in my fridge and even though they were good, I liked the unjury better, so it looks like those may end up in the garbage as I am past liquids and my dr. doesn't want me having liquid calories. -

Lori - I am in the same boat as you, I lost my first week post op, since then nada. Been pretty frustrated. I am only eating 700-800 calories. I am holding on the gym most of this week and going to see if that is effecting it. I know that seems counterproductive, but going to try anyways -

I have been irregular for years, and it's been uncomfortable. I mentioned it to my pcp and she recommended the miralax. I take it 5 days a week. I went from going once or twice a week to 4 or 5 and I feel better. I don't know, but I kind of hope the constipation is due to weight and one I lose it I can get off miralax. But not sure -
Exercise,yes....weight loss, NO

I have been going to the gym (was before surgery too). I haven't lost anything I 2 weeks. I think it is because I am only eating less than 1000 calories, usually 700-800 calories a day. I am kind of thinking of taking this week off of the gym, or only going 1 or 2 times and seeing if I lose. Next week I can eat normally so hoping I can get up to at least 1200 calories and be able to lose. I have been burning about 400 calories per workout, but will be increasing that because I cam go back to the weight machines now. I did workout for an hour today, shoveling snow...lol -

Did you join a gym after banding?
Jess55 replied to Southern Leo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've been going to Lucille Roberts for years. Decent gym, it is only for women. Usually not to crowded, but I think their locations are only in a few states -
Ah I have the saggy butt:(

If you don't really care what brand, I've found jeans for $10-$20 at marshals or Tj maxx -

Yesterday I ate B. 1/2 cup egg beaters L. Chopped up turkey with ff gravy Unsweetened applesauce D. 3 oz ground beef 93% lean with sauce Sf fudge Popsicle I'm only allowed to eat ground/chopped meat right now and no more than 3/4 cup -
I'd say congrats to this. I'd love to be one of the few that cam go without fills even if it were for a while. I'm on week 3 post op and feel good about what I am eating, but the problem is I am not losing weight. Even though like yesterday I ate 800 calories

Wearing old clothes again?
Jess55 replied to spoiltmom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never kept much from when I was thinner. I did save some jeans that I just got back into. Though out of the like 5 I had 3 of them are already to big on me. Looks like I will be going to Old Navy or maybe Marshalls soon. Don't want to buy jeans that are to expensive since hopefully I won't be wearing them long. My sweatshirts are to big on me too, need to find somewhere to buy some more. As for wearing different sizes at different weights. A couple years ago I got down to 237 lbs, and by the time I got to maybe 245 or 250 I was able to wear scrubs that were 2XL. I gained weight back and it seemed to all go to my hips, so this time when I was that weight I wasn't able to wear the 2XL due to not going over my hips. I am just now at 230 lbs finally able to get back into 2XL scrubs. Stupid hips...LOL -
I too have been stalled since one week after surgery, actually up a few pound once I started protein shakes. I have been on the elliptical 4 times the past week. I started eating ground/chopped food today and have started again tracking with my livestrong iPhone app. Personally I think my stalling is due to to few calories. I had this stalling in the past when I ate to few calories, then I upped it and started losing again. I think I will start losing again soon

My skin always gets super dry in the winter. It does not help that I constantly washing my hands at work either. O learned last year that Vaseline works really well. I put it on at night and put gloves on my hands and socks on my feet works really well
-
for those that have lost ALOT of weight, what are you going to do about the extra skin?
Jess55 replied to grmadeb01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just starting my journey, though I am already 80lbs lighter than my highest weight. I have a feeling my skin is not going to be good, my thigh area seems a bit loose already. I am not sure weather I'd do a Tummy tuck or not, but my boobs have pointed down for as long as I can remember and I have always said when I lose weight I'd have them done. -
YOU ARE GOING TO BE HUNGRY HUNGRY HUNGRY
Jess55 replied to cheryl2586's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with Iowaguy. And frankly I am getting annoyed with your (fluffytofabulous) know it all attitude. So maybe you've been banded a year, the rest of is are still learning the ways. And I am sure people asking questions did not drive older members away. People come here to ask questions on their journey to being a thinner person. Yes searching for answers instead of posting sometimes can be useful, but it is ok to post. You posted up your "bible". If people are interested they can read that. But it is ok to ask questions as well. -
December 2010 Bandsters out there?
Jess55 replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That felt good, right someone noticing you are losing weight. I had a few people say that it looks like I am losing weight, and that is only from the one week pre op and 9 lbs post op. It felt kind of good. I just told them I am watching what I eat. Only three people at work know that I had surgery and for the time being I want to keep it that way. I have a feeling in the future I will tell them, just not right now. Also just from that loss my scrubs are finally to big on me, so my boss is ordering me new scrubs, yay! I can't wait til they get here, I kind of feel like a slob in my old ones right now...LOL. As for HeatherinCA treadmill idea, I used to do the treadmill, now I do the elliptical, but I remember when I was doing it, I always held on because if I didn't I felt like I was going to glide right off of it..LOL Can't wait 'til Wednesday and I can start lifting again.. -
Personally I think the low calories is my problem too. Since I started on Purees I've been trying to up my caloric intake, but there is only so much I can do that. I hate to wait, but I may be stuck until I can start regular food in another 1.5 weeks.
-
At my one week, we had the big snow storm and I decided to go back to work (when I knew my supervisor would have been ok with me calling out that day due to the snow because she knew I had surgery) and so I shoveled my car out. Yeah, stupid me, I know. I felt fine and hopefully did not damage, I have been staying lifting under 20 lbs actually because I work as a vet, so I have to lift the animals, but I've just kept it under 20, well as close to it as I can. I have to go for a barium swallow, before I get my first fill in 2.5 weeks, and I guess then I will see if I've done any damage to the band placement.

I wish I had your SLOW weight loss, I have been plateaued for 1.5 weeks (not getting on scale 'til Monday). I really don't see how you consider that slow.
