  1. I think you can vomit regularly if you get a virus. A girl I work with slipped her band when she had a stomach virus due to vomiting. She had to have it replaced
  2. I thought that is what I was told to eat. I have an appointment at the nutritionist on Saturday, I will talk to her then. Even with that though I still have trouble getting 1200 calories in. I need at least that or else I do not lose with to low of calories.
  3. Yes, I am following the rules, I try to go to the gym 5 days a week. I work the day shift the other 2 days and have no energy after work. I do not drink with my meals, and I have been eating the 3-4 oz protein, 1/2 cup veggies and sometimes 1/4 cup starch since I started eAting real food on monday
  4. I agree with you stateofzen. I have not had a fill yet, but I do not want to be one of those people who can't even eat breakfast the band is so tight.
  5. It was weird this morning my left shoulder was bothering me. I have not had shoulder pain since like a week post op, now it is over 4 weeks post op. Lifting anything with my left arm hurt (well I mean dogs, I work with animals). I helped lift a maybe 65 lb dog on the table with another person and I was in pain after that. Don't know why. I go in for my first fill on Tuesday, I feel like my doctor is going to say something to me, since I have lost less than a pound since my post op recheck. I just started losing again on Monday, had been plateaued since a week post op. I really hope he says that that is normal.

    I'm starving . . .

Well one comment, you said you didn't drink anything, but you did drink. Soup is liquid, if you are allowed to eat solid food, I would not reccomend soup. That may be partly why you are hungry

    ~~NSV~~

LOL, I am the same way, I am not good with compliments. Monday one of the Dr.s at my job asked me if I was losing weight, I couldnt even say yes, I was like maybe and went about what I was doing. I need to learn to react better to those things
  8. I usually drink 96 oz or more a day. Prior to surgery my average was at least 128 oz a day or more. I find if I have head hunger I can drink and a lot of times it will go away. Though I was told on one of my blood tests a number of months ago my sodium was low and I was like probably from all the water( well wyers flavored) I drink

    1cc at a time?

Not sure how much my doctor fills, hope it is more than 1cc. I know he charges $100 too though. Will find out on the 25th. I was told for the first year I go in once a month and every other month I'll see the PA
  10. Definitely crystal light counts as water. It just adds flavor, I would not get adequate water intake without it (well quotes light but same difference). The only time I drink plain water is at the gym

    Amount of Liquid

Post op, I too was able to drink more liquids than told I would. But yeah it probably is just going through, since there is basically nothing in your band it just goes right through

    Not feeling the love?

I am just over 4 weeks post op, I lost weight y first week, then stalled. In no way do I believe the band failed me. I believe it was the low calorie intake the first few weeks provided. I had been going to the gym and burning like 400 calories while only eating 600 calories per day. Last week I only went to the gym once, and I finally lost, it was only 0.6 lbs, but I was happy the scale moved. This week I am eating more calories, around 1200, so I am back at the gym and working on it, added in the weight machines. I am hoping I lose a little more before my first fill next Tuesday. I know the band works, I can eat my 3-4 oz Protein, 1/2 cup veggies, and poss 1/4 cup starch and feel that I am not hungry, does it last 4 hours, not if I am at work, it does kind of if I am at home. I went for my initial consult in June and starting reading these boards at that time, so I definitely was informed about what the band entails
  13. Congrats Amber. I was banded the same day as you and not doing as well. I am eating well and sometimes stay full but the scale doesn't want to move much for me.

    Pack my bag for me!

Are you satying overnight, because if you are outpatient like me, I did not need anything
  15. I'd say the only problem I had, and I'm not sure if it can really bea called a complication is one of my incisions was very mildly infected. It was just superficial though so I treated it myself, didn't want to go back if I didn't have to, with antibiotic cream. Due to the infection it is taking longer to heal than the other ones but is healing well now. But all in all as long as my weight loss picks up after my fill my only regret would be not doing it sooner.

    Big Deal Tomorrow

I'm glad you had a good time. I had plans to go skiing next month, I haunt skiied in like 15 years, but another opportunity came up to go to the Bahamas so I chose that instead. I vow to go skiing next year though

    Help! Need new snack ideas!!!

My surgeon also said no snacking. Right now at least, most days I don't think I'd be able to get through the day without a snack, or else the wolrd would be hearing the sound of my stomach growling..LOL. I think my nutritionist actually thinks differently though, I think she says a small snack is ok, I am going to check with her when I go on the 22nd. When I asked on the forum about snacking someone told me they probably meant no mindless eating, but if it is planned it is ok. Also without a snack, I do not think I'd be able to get enough calories in for the day. Because if you think about it, 3 oz Protein is maybe 150 calories, 1/2 cup veggies is maybe 30 calories, not sure how much 1/4 cup starch is, but let's say 70, so that is like 250 cal per meal, times 3 is 750 calories, yeah that intake is to low for me. When I use livestrong my iphone app, it says at my weight to lose 2 lbs per week I should be eating around 1470cal. Now I am not sure if I will end up eating that many, so far I have only gotten to 1100, but 750 is just a little more than half of that, yeah, to low. But I can start reg food on Monday, so I will be buying WW string cheese, not sure what else for snacks.

    Traveling after Fill

I was curious too. I am getting my first fill on the 25th. I am going away feb 12th. Ive heard of people getting tighter after flying, but I imagine since it is my first one it won't be bad, Im going to ask anyways when I go in
  19. I have a physical job, so I took a week. I probably could have gone back around day 5. If I had a desk job probably day 4.
  20. I'/m with you. Right now I am private about it my immediate family knows obviously, mom, dad, sister, and her fiance. My bosses at work know, one I've been friends with for many years, he was actually the first person I told when I started the process. A girl at work knows, my other supervisor told her which I was originally annoyed at, but she has the lap band too, so I can talk about my issues with her, so it is good. And one friend knows. I think when the weight starts really coming off I may tell other people, but for now it is my thing. A few people have mentioned it looked like I was losing weight and I said yeah, I am watching what I eat.
  21. It is fine. Just I would not scrub at them. In fact 2 weeks post op the glue was falling off the incisions but still on the skin around it, I finally had to use my nail to get it off. So it is pretty strong
  22. I had absolutely no nausea post op. They did put a scopolamine patch on me prior to surgery which may have helpped and I took it off 3 days post op. Though it did mess with my vision
  23. My abdoman (not sure if it is actually my stomach) rumbles every so often. This is a different feeling than my stomach growling which is when I know I am hungry
