    Simple Math

I know, and like I said earlier calories in bs calories out works, but I dont know there seem to be exceptions. I am eating much less than I used to but if my calories go to low I do not lose. And that seems to not only be with my food. If I do to much exercise with out eating a little more, I do not lose. Not sure why

The same thing happened to me. When I first started back working our, my weight stalled. So I backed off for a week. And I started losing again. I was going to do 5 days last week, then I realized it was to much , so I did 4 and managed to lose again. I think days I work out I need to eat a little extra or I won't lose. Like today I burned 700 calories doing cardio and weights, so I am going to eat a little bit more calories to balance things out, because I find if I don't eat enough I do not lose
  4. I started cardio about 12 days post op. Weights I started about 3.5 weeks post op. Both after given clearance by my doc. So I'd get the ok before you do, especially with the emboli
  5. I felt so good yesterday. I recently got new scrubs at work, because my old ones were to large, I may have been able to get them a little sooner, but did not. But yesterday one of my coworkers said to me, "When are you going to get new scrubs, they are falling off you?" I was I just got new scrubs the smaller one's will not fit me. It just makes me feel good. My weight loss is slow right now, but I am going to the gym and as well as doing cardio, I am doing the weight machines, so I am losing inches. Not sure how much, because I try to measure and I never seem to get it right. There are only 3 people at work who know that I had surgery, so whenever someone else notices it makes me happy. I got banded on 12/20 so it was my 2011 resolution to have no failure. Also just wondering today at the gym when I was doing crunch type things on one of the machines, I felt my port hurting a little. First time that has happened and I've done it multiple times. Anyone know why that may be. Also if anyone knows on my left side (port is in the middle and higher) when I dance/jump and my hangy fat bounces it kind of hurts. I have always post surgery had more irritation in that area, not sure why.

LOL. I actually remember seeing something about this on TV a while ago. Some guy did a study and ate like hostess products and other junk, but stayed within a certain calorie allotment per day and he still lost weight. I don't think he was reccomending doing this, but just proving the theory that as long as you are burning more calories than you are eating you can lose weight.

    Band Slip?

I doubt you did any damage. We had a big snowstorm one week post my lap band and I had the "brilliant" idea that I would go back to work even though I knew my supervisor would be ok with me taking an extra day off due to the snow and I dug myself out. I did not do any damage, I had a barium swallow a few weeks later because my doc checks band placement at that time and there was no problem.

    weekly lost average?

I had stalled for a number of weeks. I did not log my weight last week because I was bloated due to TOM. So in the last 2 weeks I lost 2 lb. I really hope it will pick up a bit. I'm not happy with the rate of loss

    Help me understand

Everyone is different. They have moments of weakness. I did have a brief moment of regret when I first woke up and was in a lot of pain I thought oh crap, what did I do. But once I got pain meds I was fine. Me I don't understand how some people are in pain so many days post op. I stopped the pain meds after the second day and I have most of the bottle of lortab left. After that i just had mild discimfort. But like I said everyones different. Maybe some people didn't research enough. As much as I hated the 6 month wait. I think it was good that it gave me a bit of time to thoroughly think it through. Maybe a lot of those regretting it ran into it to quick and did not have to wait. I've been dieting for 6 years so I was ready to put a finality to it. Also 4 years ago I researched bypass, but then I thought about it and backed out

    bacitracin?

One of my incisions was mildly infected. I used triple antibiotic ointment on it just for a few days. If it doesn't seem to have any problems there is no reason to use it

    Can Still Barely Swallow

I don't think that is good. Why would he not use a larger band if he knew it was tight? If you can't get down even water barely, you are going to end up dehydrated.
  12. I'd say I felt like that basically the day of surgery. Especially when I first woke up before they gave me pain meds, which was only like a minute. I am still waiting to see good weight loss, but I don't regret it. I am eating a lot less and feel satisfied with the small amounts I'm eating

  14. I guess I am lucky to some extent. I can eat my Protein and veggies and rarely have the starch and I feel full. I am almost 6 weeks post op and when I thought I was getting my first fill 5 days ago my doc said he wanted me to heal more. Even though I'd only lost 2 lbs in 4 weeks. The only problem is the scale isn't moving much. I'm going to be playing around with my eating/exercise to see what works. I thought on Friday I might have lost my fullness because I felt hungry all day, but I think it was all because I only had a Protein shake for Breakfast.
  15. If drinking causes you pain you need to go to your doctor now before you get dehydrated. You should not have pain when drinking
  16. Just curious, this week I have started working out more at the gym. I have a polar heart rate monitor that calculates my exact calories burned via my height, weight, age, heart rate, etc. So I know exactly how many calories I burn. For example today I burned a total of 650 calories. I am trying to eat 1200 calories a day. Usually ends up being less. 1000-1100. Though yesterday it ended up at 900, because my stomach kept bothering me (but I did not work out). So if I do eat 1200 calories and burn 650, I am in essence only getting in 550 calories. (My net calories, according to my livestong iphone app). I wonder if I need to eat a little more on those days, because if I eat to little I don't lose. I am wondering what other people do? The thing is according to the calorie calculators I've see, in order to lose 2 lbs/week I need to eat like 1400 calories, I don't think there is anyway for me to eat that much right now, so I am trying for 1200. I am really trying to do this right. As I got really depressed the other day when I went in 5 weeks post op expecting a fill (havg only lost 2 lbs in the previous 4 weeks, that weight loss was only from the week prior I had plateaued with the low calorie intake) and my doctor said he wanted me to heal some more, saying nothing about my weight loss. So I have vowed to push myself and lose a lot of weight in the next 6 weeks (my next appointment). First of all I know I need to stay off the scale, but I can't. Like yesterday morning I was 225.4 an this am I was back to 270. I know, daily fluctuations, blah blah, but these things bother me and it makes me want to push myself harder, but not sure if I keep burning so much and not eating enough to keep it going I won't lose. I will find out when I have my real weigh in day on Monday, but for now, I just want people opinions.

    Gym and calories

I totally meant 225 to 227, not 270. I do know I burn more than what I exercise. I am going to not add anything and see what happens. Also I don't think it is true that muscle weighs more than fat. I think they are equal, but muscle just makes you look smaller

    Gym and calories

I do know my body burns calories all the time. I know some people don't believe I starvation mode, I do, in the past when dieting I've tried to eat less than reccomended to lose weight and I stopped losing. Once I started eating more again I started losing again. So I believe it in. I do know that I've lost inches. I've had to get smaller pants and work scrubs. I get at least 80grams of protein per day, so that is adequate. As for the gym, I usually go in the morning about an hour after breakfast. This morning I wasn't really hungry, but I felt I should eat, so I had an unjury protein shake, made with milk, so it was 28grams of protein.

Go to your profile page, then go to change or edit signature. And put the code in your signature. It will automatically update when you change your weights. And it will be there in every post, no need to add it every time
  21. Mine was only an outpatient procedure, so I wasn't there long and I gained nothing. Not sure exactly how much fluids I received while I was there. But I have readf that that happens to people. It seems that it will go away in a few days. It is just fluid retention of the fluids that you were on.
  22. I was told 1000-1200. During the post op phases I only lost during the first week. After that I stalled for 3 weeks. Finally when I started on real food again and I got my calories back up, I started losing again.

    Exercise Regimen

You can be my friend...LOL. I am a huge MJ fan, and I LOVE the game, it is a great workout. I have not played in like a week though Gotta get back into it. As for the OP. The MJ game for my Wii was my first post op workout, started like 5 days post op, not that long though. I then started back at the gym at about 10 days post op, I started with the elliptical (had been going 40 min on it 3-4 times a week pre op), the first day, I only did like 15 minutes, the next I got to 25. Then the next time I went got up to 30. About 4 weeks post op, I added back in the weight machines. I still haven't gone 40 min on the elliptical, usually only 30 -35, but I had a great work out the last 2 days, between the elliptical and the weights. My goal for this week is 5 times at the gym and maybe my Wii the other 2 days. I work evenings 3 days a week, so I do the gym those days and my 2 days off. The thing is when I work mornings (8am - 6pm) usually when I get home I am to tired to do much, so it's either my Wii, a little dancing around the apartment, or nothing. I really don't like to walk, but I really should because I have 2 dogs, but they don't walk well. They stop to pee everywhere and my one is old and going blind so it is hard to walk her

    To fill or unfill?

If I were in your position I would definitely get some saline removed. I would not want to have to eat like that.
  25. You should follow the guidelines set by your doc. I am 5 weeks post op and while on my post op diet regimen, yes I did have a few things I shouldn't but for the most part I followed the diet from liquids to pures to mushies and then solids. Your body is healing and you shouldnt be eating so much real food yet
