  1. Thanks, but I've been exercising for years. I just added in kickboxing.
  2. I do cut back on my calories for the rest of the day, so even though I had a few I only went slightly over my usual calories. But I didn't like that I hat eaten so much fat. But I will move on.
  3. They are in the break, should I say alcove. I have to walk Past that area all the time to go to the bathroom and get food/water for the animals. I'm going to try harder to just ignore it
  4. I want to check in too. Weight loss has been a bit slow for me. Per my tracker I've lost 25.8 lb, 9.6 was pre op and 9.2 the week post op. Though I've been going to the gym and started kickboxing last week (very fun!). I went to the gym 4 days last week and kickboxing 3 days, (2 days I did both) so I did have 2 days off. So I didn't lose last week, but I believe it was because I ramped up the exercise. I hope my body evens it out this week and I lose. When I went for my fill they did not want to give it to me, since I am losing (albeit slowly). I am having trouble with food at work, but do well when not there. Need to work on the work situation.
  5. Lol, may not work as well for me, I'm a LVT who works in a veterinary hospital
  6. I drank the unjury protein shakes the chocolate and vanilla. Never tried the other flavors

    pain after surgery

As for the pain, it seems everyone is different. I was off the pain meds by day 3. The first day was the worst (obviously). After day 3 I was still sore when getting out of bed and such, but it was minimal. I went out on day 4, I did start to feel a tiny bit nauseaus after a few hours. By day 5 I was getting bored at home and I went back to work on day 7. Even though I had to dig my car out from under over a foot of snow

    Medicines?

I take advil. Before people say you can't take ibuprofen, I checked with my drs PA and she said as long as you don't take it on a regular basis it is fine. I don't have any fill and I can swallow any pill. For TOM I usually take midol.

    burning calories

I use a polar heart rate monitor. I forget which model. I find it works well. As someone else said online calculators are not accurate. Interesting there is a sign at the gym that says how many calories an acitivory burns and compadres to my polar it is extremely inaccurate. I've been considering the bodybugg or bodymedia fit, but don't like the price of it
  10. Once you continue with the workouts it will get better. I've been going to the gym and doing cardio for years, but when I added in the weight machines I was so site, it has gotten a lot better. Also the first time I went kickboxing I was so sore, now that I've done it a few more times it is much better. Just have to push through it

    Kickboxing

I do need to do the measurements, though I never feel like I am going in the right spots. After my first week of kickboxing and the gym. I guess since I increased my activity and started the kickboxing unfortunately the scale did not move. I know it is because I increased the activity and not that I ate to much though. Hopefully my body will get out of the shock of it hen I weigh next week and I will see it move. Though my friend who got me into it and I go with sometimes, said I look a little smaller (she does not know I have a lap band, just that I've been dieting and exercising). So maybe I have lost inches. They do ab workouts at the end and I've come to realize my abs suck! LOL I know it will take time, but I can't hold the position for that long, or do good pushups or anything. I am trying though, so I should get better. I had a great kickboxing class this morning and I plan to go to they gym later for cardio and such.
  12. External sutures are usually removed about 10-14 days post op. Usually they won't use dissolvable sutures in the skin. At least this is true in animals. I was closed with dermabond, so I can't say for sure
  13. At 13 days out, I was just finishing my week on liquids and I was only getting like 600 calories. I did not get up to 1200 until I got to solids at week 5 and even now I don't always get to 1200, which I need to work on because I've increased my workputs

    Sleep Help....

I was able to sleep on my side the day of surgery and I thunk a couple days later I was sleeping mostly on my stomach. For the first couple of weeks I was most comfortable on my left side/stomach, now I am most comftorble on my right
  15. I'm not sure if there is one thing that has been the hardest to give up, because I don't truly deprive myself of things, I just limit it. But I do miss a chicken quesadillia from taco bell and the pizza hut personal pizza. I would love to have them but after looking at the nutrition info, it is not worth it. I always thought my diet coke would be difficult to give up, but it wasn't. I did try some a little bit ago and OT honestly didn't taste that good anymore

    March Madness Challenge

Blah, as I expected no loss for me this week. I am very disappointed, but I know it is because I've increased my exercise and added in kickboxing which may be bulding muscle.
  17. I osted in the bodybugg thread in the fitness forum, but it's been a few days and no one has responded. Does anyone have one of these? Is it worth it? Does it tell you if you need to eat more to lose weight, or what? Do you wear it under your sleeve? If I got one I would not want people to see it at work and stuff. I currently have a Polar heart rate monitor that I wear when I go to the gym and kickboxing, but maybe it would be cool to see how much I burn the rtest of the day, since I have a physical job. Any info would be greatly appreciated

    BodyBugg?

Thanks Dave that does help me. It sounds like it would help me a lot. I am going to go price searching and see if I can find the cheapest price and may get it.

    average weight loss

I've been averaging 1 lb per week, I am trying to kick it up, and last week I managed 1.4 and I was happy. Ive increased my exercise and started kickboxing, so I hope it comes off quicker. I get so jealous when I see people say they're down 2-5 lbs in 1 week, but I know everyone is different
  20. My mom had tried nutrisystem years ago and said their food was disgusting. Originally I said I was going to follow Weight Watcher after my band, but then since I wouldn't be able to eat as much points as they would recommend for my weight, I decided to just count calories.
  21. 35# since feb 10th? Hell of a lot more than me! I wad banded 12/20 and have only lost 17#, ticker says 26 but 9# was pre op diet. I would be thrilled with your results

    So miserable. Please help!

My dr had recommended miralax to me when I originally went las year and told her I was chronically constipated. So I take that 5 days a week and I take fiber gummies. I also usually eat a fiber one bar a day. Helps me greatly. I usually buy the generic miralax as it is obviously cheaper.

    Kickboxing

Just letting you guys know I did end up signing up. I've been there 3 times this week. Had a great workout there this am. I do thing between the kickboxing and gym I kind of overdid it the week and the scale is not going to show a loss. Hopefully it will move next week. Kind of upsetting to me, but it will even out eventually. After all I went to kickboxing 3 days and the gym 4 (5 if I do this evening) days this week (I weigh on tuesday) which is more than I had been exercising.
  25. That seems drastic, especially for someone 5'11". I am only 5'2" and I would not drop my calories down that low
