  1. We all have frustrations in this. I understand it is hard but you just gotta follow the plan and things will get better. I worked my butt off this week, and judging by my weight today it looks like I have a slight gain, I don't officially weigh in til Tuesday am, but I have to push on and go back to figuring out what works for me. According to my calorie defecits I should be losing a lot faster, but I guess it doesn't work like that for me. So everyone is different and you gotta figure out what works for you. Keep at it

2 Week Post Op Dr. Appt

My post op exam was just a weight and seeing how I was doing. The PA I saw did not even look at my incisions. I was kind of perplexed by that. I mean I knew what to look out for being in a medical field, but for all they know they could have been necrotic. I have yet to have a fill yet, so 3 months later and they still have not seen them
  3. I need to find a good sports bra. To be honest by boobs are very saggy and I need something to hgold them up and in, so if I am doing jumpingjacks at kickboxing they are not all over the place, which holds me back from doing them because I am embarrassed. I've seen people post websites where you can order them, but I want to be able to try it on. Does anyone know any stores that sell them for larger boobs. I am s 44DD

    Morning Excersize

I usuall go at around 10ish am. The first kickboxing class at the place I go to is not til 10. Also if I go to the gym they don't open til 9. I am not one to wake up super early. I do usually have eggs an hour before I go, but sometimes I am not really hungry
  5. I have a hamburger patty many times a week. I do not put it on a bun though. I probably could since I don't have a problem with bread but I just don't. I just eat it with ketchup

    Sports Bra

I think I'm going to go to target tomorrow and check them out. Even if for now I just wear it over my other bras to hold them in.
  7. It is normal! Don't worry! I lost 9 lbs my first week post op. Then for the next 4 weeks I kept fluctuating til my 6 week appointment, I had only lost 2 lb since my 9 day post op appointment. I felt embarrassed, but my doc did not say anything. From then on things went better
  8. I went out to eat with a group of people, I only knew 3 of them and only 1 knew I had surgery. No one said anything. Also at work people have noticed my weight loss and I've just said I'm watching what I eat and working out
  9. I had to do 6 month monitored weight loss and I was annoyed about that. 12 months is insane! I would look elsewhere
  10. My doctor told me the same thing, and if I were hungry I would have demanded a fill, but I am not that hungry so I just let it go. But if I were you I'd demand one.

    Sports Bra

I've actually never tried an underwire. I feel like it would be uncomfortable. I will try some of those mentioned. Thanks!

    1 day post op question

My throat was sore for about 3-4 days. Sf Popsicles helped. I now feel bad when I intubate animals.

    Getting cold feet

Just remember what you are doing this for! It was the best thing I've ever done. I will admit the day of surgery after surgery I was in quite a but of pain and I thought, oh crap, what did I do. But after that first day it was a piece of cake. And 3 months later, I am happier than I've ever been. It is scary, but you'll do great!
  14. I had gone into my last appointment expecting a fill. After the PA looked at my weight and talked to me she said I didn't need one, I was a bit upset. But realize I'm not really hungry between meals, I am losing weight, a little slow for my taste, but I am losing at least 1lb per week average. Why should I risk not being able tO eat certain things and being uncomfortable for a fill. You are losing a lot faster than me, so if I were you I would not get a flll

    Constipation

@Elfiepoo, I wonder is it does have something to do with fats. I've been constipated for as long as I've been dieting, which is like 8 years or so. I went away for a week last month and did not eat the greatest and I went everyday without taking anything. But when I cam back, back to my normal. Not sure if it had to do with the fact that I was out of the country and things are different there (because I have gone off diets before on vacations in the country and still was constipated) or the fact I was eating more fat. Don't know
  16. I went for my initial consult today and having already done WW which counted towards my 6 month monitored weight loss I only have to go through all the testing to get my surgery. My surgeon reccomends eating low carb and high Protein. Also not eating any yogurt, Soups and liquidy foods. I looked in my fridge when I got home and realized the foods I have been eating have quite a bit of carbs. So what kind of food do you reccomend to eat? One thing I will not eat is fish, I hate the smell, just so it is not suggested. Also curious on something else, I was planning on post op to continue using Weight watchers, I feel it is a good plan and I can lose on it, I just eat to much right now which is where the lap band will come in. But my Dr. said only eat 3 meals a day no Snacks, in WW you can eat your points at whatever times you want. Has anyone ever not followed their Dr.s reccomendations and did that? I know there are people on the board that do WW after the band. Thanks for your help.

    Emotional Rollercoaster

Congrats on your decision! It is the best decision I have made. I understand your emotions. My highest weight was much higher than you. I hit a whopping 308 lb at my highest and I was 22 I think at that time. I tried WW and Jenny Craig and by my surgery date I was at 247 (I think). I'm 28 now and was banded 3 mos ago. Remember do this for yourself. If you need to do this don't let your husband try to sway your decision. If you get loose skin so be it. I hope I don't, I am exercising a lot to try to avoid it, but if it happens it happens. At this point I'd rather be thin with loose skin than fat without it. Unfortunately by boobs are already saggy and deflated (have been for years) so I do plan to get a augmentation when I lose the weight and if my saggy skin is that bad, maybe I will fix it. But do this for you
  18. I have the opposite problem. I don't have any fill (besides what was in there during surgery) and I got my TOM yesterday and I feel tight, not getting stuck or anything, but I feel I can't eat as much.
  19. I had ordered smaller scrubs for work, because my old ones were a bit big. I did not think I would fit into XL ones yet though. They got here and I tried them on and they just fit. I was worried about if they would shrink in the wash but after I washed and dried them they still fit. I mean any smaller and they wouldn't, but I'm actually going to wear scrubs that aren't baggy on me tomorrow. I've felt so good since I had this surgery!

    Slow

How much is very very little? You can be eating to little and you won't lose
  21. I had a one week pre op diet 5 days full liquids, last 2 days clear liquids. I lost 9.4 lbs on it

    Constipation

I've been constipated since way before the band. I had not been to the dr in a number of years before deciding to get the band, so when I went to my pcp I brought it up and she recommended miralax. I take it regularly, well 5 days a week. For some reason it won't work when I go in to work early and just makes me uncomfortable. I also take fiber gummies and usually eat a fiber one bar. If I still feel uncomfortable, I will take bisocodyl no more than once a week. I've read chronic use of those kind of laxatives can lead to liver issues and such.

    1200 calories? how?

My doctor and the nut I went to both said no snacking. I pretend I am doing it there way, but I believe in healthy snacks. A stick of WW string cheese, hummous and carrots or things like that

I'm worried I'm eating too much!!

You should not be eating 2 cups, especially 1.5 weeks post op. I wasn't even allowed to eat 1 cup until 5 weeks post op.
  25. Thank you Vicky, that was in fact my point. Just that it is not something to jump into. And Birinak, I can definitely understand about the OP not being sure if he can live with eating one cup. I guess thinking back I always thought one cup was not enough. So far I have been lucky in my band journey. I am 3 months post op and I haven't had a fill. And I think I only have had one day where I experienced "bandsters hell". Where I was starving like right after I ate.
