    Best time to start exercising

I was given the clear to do cardio like 9 days post op. I didn't start back at the gym til like 2 weeks though. I say if you feel up to it and your doc says you can , go for it!

    Kickboxing

I went kickboxing for the first time Monday. I very much enjoyed it and made it through the class (was soaked after though..lol). I went again tonight and was going to sign up for a membership, the only problem the only reasonable option was $64 a month with a 1 year commitment. Kind of worried about the commitment part. I have wanted to do martial arts for a while, but was going to try tae kwon do or something but was waiting til my weight dropped some more. I could just do the kickboxing for now, I've only taken 2 classes so far bit it seems to have kicked my weight loss up a notch already. What do you guys think, should I do it? I also already go to the gum and do cardio and the weight machines

    Kickboxing

Oh I haven't given up my wanting to do it. I have just put it off for a little bit. I have a year commitment on kickboxing and my plan was to lose a bit of weight first and then do martial arts. I will join eventually. Infact I think kickboxing has actually started to give me a little Mir confidence already.
  4. I usually have a fiber one bar as a snack at night. I also take gummy fiber chews
  5. I'm not sure if it was my doctors office or my insurance company. In the seminar I was told having records from WW would be acceptable for the 6 month monitored weight loss thing. At my second appointment I got smacked in the face with oh that is not accepted anymore. So when I was aiming to have my surgery in September when I got back from vacation, I ended up having it in December. Was very upset about that. But I am happy where I am today
  6. I want in, but I don't weigh in til Tuesdays, so I'll post then
  7. That would really annoy me. I am also a very private person and very few people know about me. One of the three people at my job who know also has the band. Today we had a meeting and pizza was ordered so I had a grandma slice and so did she. She says in front of sone people, this kind I can get down just fine, how bout you. I guess she has some issues with bread. The girl that was next to me, was like what, I'm confused. I was like just ignore her. Seriously, I think she knows that no one else knows, everyone just thinks on dieting and working out.

    WATER PILLS??

I agree with fluffytofabulous, I would not recommend taking a diuretic without talking to your doctor. If you are chronically swollen you could have some sort of medical condition.
  9. I'm sorry you are having a rough time right now. I was depressed for a long time, and was on meds from like age 12 til 22, but stopped them because I felt no better on them. I think my depression was kind of physical and not chemical or something, because ever since I had this surgery and really decided to change my life, my spreading has vanished
  10. That's awesome! Glad you've finally hit your spot and that you kept going even when it was hard.
  11. I have a physical job too, I'm an LVT. I just avoided as much as I could dealing with large dogs. I took a week off and I had no problem when I went back, I even dug my car out from under a foot of snow to get there. Though everyone is different, I had a pretty quick recovery, but I see many other people post who take longer to recover.

    Kickboxing

When I started I was a bit over 2 months post op. I started the end of February and had surgery 12/20. I definitely could have started sooner though. (I had a pretty easy recovery). I totally love it now and am doing at least 4 classes a week. Slaked a little bit towards the end of last week due to a cold, but even though I'm still quite congested I'm back to it, and it actually seems to clear my nose up a bit lol. I definitely recommend it!
  13. My doc put a scopalomine patch on me before surgery and I had no issues with nausea. Only problem is I forgot it was on and found put it was the reason my vision was off. I would ask your dic about a nausea patch if you're that nauseas
  14. I'm having a pretty easy time too. Though I am working at it. But I am not depriving myself of things, just not going crazy. I do workout, but more so since I started kickboxing and I really love it. I have not had any fills yet I have restriction, so I'm happy about that

    I am 3 month!

I am just over 3 months as well and am just over 30lb down as well. Our weightless may be slower than some, but I feel so much better and I am happy with where I am at
  16. I'm 3 Months and some change post op. I still have restriction from surgery and I am very happy for it. I have no fill, and though my weight loss is slower than others, I have no plans to get one as long as I am losing ( my doc doesn't want to give one if I am losing either
  17. My doc gave me the clear for cardio at like my 9 day post op visit and said wait 2 or 3 more weeks (I forget) to lift

    March Madness Challenge

Jess checking in at 214.6, down 1.6 lb. Not at my goal, but I'm satisfied with a 6.2 lb loss for the month. Better than last months loss. I seem to be a slow loser, but I'm ok with that.
  20. I do the before and after meals part 30 min before and usually 45 min after. As for snacks I usually don't bother following that rule, because they are not usually because I am hungry, but because I need to get my calories in so if it pushes right through it doesn't bother me. Also I figure my stomas pretty big to begin with because I have no fill, so not sure if it will go through any faster anyways

    Really mad at myself!

I bumped up my exercise quite a bit (doing kickboxing) and I feel I am not getting enough calories (sometimes I don't even get to 1200, and I think I need 1400). So what I am going to be trying this week is drink a 8 oz unjury Protein shake once a day (usually after kickboxing) it is 190 calories when made with milk. I was told no liquid calories, but I gotta try something else to make the scale move.

    Unjury Protein Powder? anyone??

The chicken soup one isn't new. But I used it when I was on clear liquids. About the only thing that gave me my protein at that stage. It's decent, I wouldn't eat it now that I'm not on clear liquids, but it was the only "clear" protein I was able to tolerate. I'm having a little trouble getting in my calories for the day since I've been kickboxing, so my plan is to drink a protein shake after kickboxing and see how that goes. I drink the chocolate splendor and vanilla with sucrolose from unjury, I really like those
  23. I'm with a lot of the others, I do weigh daily, but I only record weekly. The daily numbers you have to be careful with, because my numbers fluctuate greatly. I seem to go up in the middle of the week then go back down toasted the end. It is annouing
  24. Some peopl are just upset that you are losing weight and they're not. Sometimes you have no idea what people are thinking and then it sounds like they are giving you a compliment then it turns into something else. A girl at work had been saying to me for weeks that I need smaller scrubs, so I finally got some. And I'm like look got new scrubs and her response was, the shirts still to big. Now mind you it is not, the top barely fits down over my butt and is a little uncomfortable. Maybe it looks bigger because I am smaller on the top but my hips are bigger. But still what kind of thing was that to sat
  25. I heard the port incision takes longest to heal and can bother people for many months after. Me, I keep getting a little twinge in the incision left of the port. It had gotten a tiny bit infected while healing so it took the longest to heal for me. Mostly comes when I am doing an an workout tjough
