I had a problem at lunch today after I ate My stomach really hurt for a good 15 minutes or so. Kind of felt like I ate to much but it was painful. While I was eating I felt like I was still hungry and this happened after I was done. Could something have been stuck? I have only a tiny bit of fill from surgery and am 5 months post op. I've never had this feeling before. Like I said it lasted like 15 minutes of pain after I just felt uncomfortable. I just had dinner and had no problems

not a good day back to work
Jess55 replied to tnt21705's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you positive there is nothing in your band? When I originally asked my PA if I had anything in my band she said the the band comes with something in it ( I assume to keep it from sticking to itself). -
December 2010 Bandsters out there?
Jess55 replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm eating the same as I was before. I'm not going to jump into a fill. I'm going to give it at least a couple of weeks. I have a feeling it is just tom. -
For an endoscopy you are put under propofal. I've seen animals wake from it and was like sure I'll be fine to drive. They told me you need someone to drive you home. You know what they were right, there was no way I would have been able to drive myself home

My surgeon also said 3 meals no snacking. I do have little snacks in between. Like WW string cheese and other healthy stuff. I believe in multiple small meals. Also the fact I can't get enough calories in 3 meals

December 2010 Bandsters out there?
Jess55 replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I just had my last appointment and my next one isn't til may 25th. If it doesn't stop. I'll make it sooner, but I'm hoping it is just TOM. Congrats on onederland! Can't wait til I'm there, still have 12 lb to go -
Now don't misunderstand me, I do have restriction, just with the band (and whatever was in it from surgery). If I did start to get hungry and start struggling I would totally get a fill. I just don't want to end up to tight. This past week I have been struggling a bit but I believe it is due to TOMs imminent arrival and not due to me losing restriction. So when you do get banded don't feel you have to struggle just because you are afraid to vomit. Just realize the band is not going to stop you from eating, it just helps curve your hunger

I'm surprised it wasn't discussed with you before surgery that NSAIDs with the band continuously is not recommended

Jess55 replied to options123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

Are you satisfied with "Average" weight loss???
Jess55 replied to bambam31's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I want to do it all! Right now I am aiming for the high end on normal bmi. Which at 5'2" my goal is 135 lb. I am fine with exercise I found something I love which is kickboxing, later on I might switch to some form of martial arts though. -
My first week post op I was on clear liquids and my instructions said only 4oz at a time, so that's all I had, I probably could've taken more but I was being careful. That first week I probably only got like 1/4 of the recommended protein in a day. I had tried things like Isopure before hand and could not even swallow it. So the only protein I had was the unjury chicken soup flavor at 20 grams a scoop and u had 1/2 of that 3 times per day. Ok so maybe I got 1/2 the protein in lol. Yeah so if you can't finish it, I wouldn't worry.

December 2010 Bandsters out there?
Jess55 replied to GardenGal's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I really hope I'm not losing my restriction. I've been hungry this week shortly after eating. I'm getting TOM very soon and I hope it is just that. I only have whatever fill was put in during surgery (still haven't asked what that is). I just started birth control today actually because I've been getting really sick on my first day. Does anyone know if that helps with getting hungry the week before? Sorry guys if thats to much for you...lol -
When did you start to feel better?
Jess55 replied to Rachel412's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt like crap the first day, the second day was a lot better and the third was almost normal. Only took the pain mess first two days when I was uncomfortable (not every 4 hours). Of course getting up fir the next few days I was sore but not sore enough for drugs. -
7 weeks Post OP ~ Vacation
Jess55 replied to isabella2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went on vacay about 7 weeks out from my surgery too. I was on normal foods at that point. To be honest I did not eat as good as I should have, but 5 out of the 7 days I woke up early and walked in the beach and was on my feet most of the day (we were doing a spay/neuter clinic) and the walking and standing won out of my poor eating (we were cooked for mist days so I did not really have a choice in what I ate) I came back and had lost 1/2-1 lb. Not a lot but good for being on vacation -
I donated blood six weeks after surgery. I had looked it up on the web and it said as long as your back to normal activity you can donate. I did tell them when I went too just to verify it was ok

I have no fill and I can eat anything I want. I have restriction just from the band. If that does ever go away (hopes it doesn't) I will not allow myself to become so tight that I can't eat things. I have never PB'd or been stuck or slimed or anything

Is an EKG and a Chest CT normal pre-op testing before surgery?
Jess55 replied to isabella2's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
EKG is, I had a chest X-ray, don't think a ct is normal to be done -
I tried their vitamins the one optimized for lap band. It was totally nasty I couldn't even swallow one.

Reverie just so you know actigal is the same as ursodiol. Brand name vs. Generic, or other way, I forget. But same thing -
Gall Stones After LapBand?

Ashley, I want to make sure you understand, you said if I eat something bad for me I'll be sick after. No, you won't, unless you eat to much you may feel uncomfortable. If you eat, let's say chocolate, or chips, there will be no consequences. You will not feel sick. Just want to make sure you ate aware of this. To Kim , as you said you heard at the seminar it is true, if you continue to eat sweets the surgery will not help you, unlike bypass you won't get sick from eating chocolate. In order to be successful you need to change your ways. As for not really losing weight for 3 months, well that is whatever your willpower is. Most people get very hungry shortly after surgery, and need fills to control it. And according to many you may not have restriction for many fills/months after. If you are lucky you can be like me who continues to have restriction right from the surgery. There ate some, I've heard that get by without exercising but I exercise regulary and I think you should.

I started out slower at the gym 3-4, then 4-5 times per week with usually 30-35 minutes on the elliptical, then doing the weight machines for like 30-40 minutes. Then 6 weeks ago I switched to kickboxing, again I started off at 3 classes per week 1 hour classes. Now I am up to 6 classes per week. On my days off I go twice, so I am off 3 days usually.

Bridesmaid Blues- What size do I order????
Jess55 replied to happytobemefinally's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had heard you just need to get your dress like 3 months in advance ? My sister is getting married in November and I am worried about this as well. I'm going to try to wait as long as I can before getting the dress -
6 months of supervised diet?
Jess55 replied to Randiscan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was 6 months too, but all I had to do is get weighed every month. No food journal or anything -
That sucks for the delay, but continue to do band research. I ended up having to do a 6 month monitored diet and I stayed on this board the whole time and I learned so much on my wait. When I read a lot of peoples posts I feel that they go into this blind, not having researched enpugh
