  1. Well I was bored at home, I live alone with my 2 dogs. We had a big snowstorm during the night and I even dug my car out from under a foot of snow (which I probably should not have done) but I was bored. Also I only went back for a day then Tuesday and Wednesday are my normal days off. Yes, I agree, there are temptations at work. I went back to the gym at 2 weeks post op. Now I do kickboxing 6 days a week
  2. I had surgery on Monday, and went back the folowing Monday. I have a physical job, I'm an LVT. I just didn't lift any dogs over 25# for the next 2.5 weeks
  3. I haven't told many people. 3 people at work know and my immediate family. I'm a very private person. Peopl obviously know I'm losing weight. And I've been asked a few times how much I've lost. I say I'm keeping that to myself. A couple times people have been like, you must've lost at least _ #. Really? If I said I didn't want to tell you (in a nicer way) why must you guess.
  4. I have had no problems with my band. Did not even get my first fill til 5 months post op. If your doc pushes to fill mist, you need a new one. Not once during my post op visits did my dic or PA even bring up a fill. It wasn't til I said I was feeling hungrier that my doc gave me one. Since I only have a tiny fill and am still a bit hungry, yet still losing though, makes me feel I could have done this without surgery and I just needed a good kick in the ass. But since I have this tool now, I'm going to utilize it and get another fill when I go in next time, which I really need to make an appointment for

    very disapointed

Unfortunately, if she's not ready to make the decision you can't force her. Like 6 years ago I was focused on getting bypass. I chickened out of it and didn't even think about the band. I guess I wasn't ready for a drastic decision. I was ready to lose weight I joined Jenny Craig and lost 70# (in 3 years ). So SHE has to be ready

How to get back on track

Agreed with brbm6. I use livestrong.com and the iPhone app. I am with the mindset, I can have a cookie, I just track it and cut back on something else during the day.
  7. 6 weeks out, I think I was only down 11lb. So you're ahead of me....lol. I lost 9 lb the first week then 2 week 5-6. Once I started eating a normal amount of calories (1200), with the exercise i was doing I started losing again.

    Picking a goal weight

My goal weight is at the high end of the bmi chart. I'm 5'2", so I chose 135lb. That may change along the way. Maybe lower, not sure.

    SAD!

I don't know why you're doc said you cant have the surgery. Many of us here had hiatal hernias and they were fixed when they did the lab band surgery. Yes, if they don't fix it, it can cause problems, but as long as he fixed it no problem. I had one that I don't think they even saw on the EGD, and after surgery I was told about it and it was repaired
  10. Thanks everyone! It feels so great! Getting the band was the best thing I've ever done. And these past 6 months are the happiest I've been in a long long time. I'm so proud of all the December bandsters, we're all doing great!
  11. Honestly it all depends on where u lose/ gain weight. One time I lost weight, I was in a 2x at a certain weight. Then I gained and all the weight seemed to go to my butt, so when I lost again it took longer for me to get to a 2x
  12. Congrats! I hit 199 today too! It feels so great!

    iPhone app for banders

You're right. It is worth it, just bought it and it's downloading now. Hope I like it!
  14. Excellent Vicky! Now today is my 6 month bandiversary today. These have been the best 6 months of my life! Guess what I weighed when I woke up this am? 199! I can't say it loud enough! I am so happy! I'm not changing my ticker just yet, since my official weigh in day is Thursday, but I am so happy! I made it to onederland.

    iPhone app for banders

Hmm... Looks interesting, at $7.99 I'm gonna have to think about it though

    Who is using a BodyBugg

I've been debating getting one for months, in fact I was just searching eBay to see if they had good priced ones. I can't justify it's retail cost right now. I've been using my polar heart rate monitor for years now for workouts, but lately the more I look at it the more I see HR 00. So obviously it is not trustworthy anymore. I'd Also like to see my daily calories burned. But I don't know if I'd be comfortable wearing it on my arm all the time. Ive also considered the fit bit, but I can't see how it'd be accurate.
  17. It depends on your doc. They should've gave you a diet Plan that lists what you can have at what stage. You can't go by what people here say for this, since every doc does it different

how long on liquids after first fill?

I had to do liquids after my fill too, two days and it was so much harder than pre/post op. They wanted me to stay on mushies too for 2 days, then ground/chopped for 2 days. I got up to one and a half days of mushies and went to regular fiod
  19. I was at 201 on Thursday, Monday is my 6 month bandiversary. I'm hoping to be 199.8, but I will accept it if I have to wait til my official weigh in on Thursday. I've had two lower calorie days in a row (not really by choice, work made it hard to get time to eat) so I'm hoping that will make it a little closer

    Pizza

I live in NY, so all I got is Ny pizza, well besides like pizza hut or something like that. I may have a slice every couple of weeks or so. I have no problem with it. But I have little fill. A woman in my office is banded and she says it gives her trouble. So I think it depends. I don't know where her fill level is at though
  21. I would imagine what you would do is upload it to an online gallery such as photobucket. Then from there you can get an image tag to use on a message board then put it in your post. At least that's how I've done it on other message boards. Never done it here, so I can't guarantee it will work here. If it does let me know because I want to post a 6 month comparison pic
  22. I exercise a lot, kickboxing 6 days a week. I'm hoping I can control some of it, I'm only 28, so I hope that helps too. My arms already look a bit flappy though. At this point the only things I would get done is my lower stomach if I have quite a bit there. Also I always promised myself when I lost weight I would get my boobs done. They've always been saggy and I've always hated them. The rest I'd be happy just being thin. If I cant find anyone who likes me for who I am, then it'll just be me and the dogs...lol
  23. That's awesome news! Now you can use that money for a new wardrobe at the finish line. I know I will need one, and someone to teach me how to dress (I've lived in t shirts for so long).

    Drink and Drive

I drink and drive all the time (lol...that sounds awful to say that). I've never had a problem. And I guzzle water
