I was banded on Nov.9th and have already decided to have it removed. I was not prepared for the onslaught of anxiety and emotion. Thank God the band is easy to take out.

I thought I was ready to have this procedure. I had no idea what it could do to me emotionally. I had my banding done on Nov. 9th and am now in a serious depression. I woke up one day and realized that without eating constantly I don't know who I am or what I am doing. I have been started on anti-depressants and am talking about my feelings to everyone. I am having trouble eating anything at all. I have trouble getting out of bed. My whole day centered around food. I did not realize what an addiction I have. I pray this will pass so I can get healthy. People should not think of this as a quick fix. It is a serious life change.

Banded on 11-09-06...When I wake up in the morning I feel very out of it...dizzy and lightheaded. It scares me to death and then I have to deal with the anxiety which I'm sure doesn't make things any better. I am drinking tons of water and adding protein powder to everything. Everyone including my Dr. ( Ahmad, Port Jeff NY ) tells me my body is just adusting but it is so scary...any feedback?

I had my surgery on Nov. 9th. I spent the night in the hospital on the 17th for dehydration. Now I am very freaked out and scared that I am hurting myself more than helping. I have been drinking MANY more glasses of water but I am still scared. Any feedback?

Thank you so much for writing back...I feel much better...lots more water and I started adding whey protein powder to my instant breakfast. Still a bit shakey but I suspect alot of it is anxiety. I worry that I will not do this right ...Dr. follow up on Tues. and then I get to start eating puree. Never thought I would look forward to baby food! Everyone keeps telling me what a great thing I've done...hard to feel it when I'm scared but I just have to get through the adjustment. My name is AnneMarie. Thanks again!

Mine was not painless either...never had any surgery before and wasn't prepared for the pain after. Had mine done on 11-09 and still feel like someone stabbed me. My Dr. says everything is real good though...It does get a little better every day. Not going back to work till 11-27. Good luck ...I'm sure you will do fine.
