i just celebrated my two year anniversary with my band. This is the first time I have been to this site, tho...I mean, I joined two years ago, but forgot with the meds, I guides. I have lost between 65-70 lbs, depending on the day. My goal was to get to 150, which is still twenty lbs to go. I was stalled at sixty lbs for a long time, then started working out at a gym. I lost ten lbs. Within a month and now stay at that weight. I plan to hire a trainer in august, which should help with ten of this lbs. I have a big event in September that I want to look fab for...I havent seen my siblings in four yrs and the weight loss should set them back...they made some pretty ugly comments when I was at my heaviest. I love being able to shop on the Missy dept at stores and have been really pleased with my progress. It is just those last few lbs.....I do wealk three miles every morning, he'll or high Water, which has helped my mood and sleep tremendously.

Yes, I am very happy. I wish I was at my goal, but I do cheat on occasion. It is amazing how peanuts don't fill you up! Lol thanks for thie encouragement. Margaret

Congrats on the decision to do the surgery. I told friends about it, but not family. They were the ones who were so nasty with their comments when I was at my heaviest. Some people do act like we took the easy way out, not realizing this isn't easy at all. It is a whole lifestyle change. I went from being a couch potato to walking three miles a day and working out at the gym three times a week. The whole lack of eating is an adjustment, too. I would kill for a steak sandwich, but after one bite would regret it. You don't need to be nervous, tho it is hard not to be. The results make it all worth it. Good luck Margaret

The needle used to do the fills is painless. I never even had them numb the area. Just don't look.

Thanks for all the support. I wish I had been active in this group sooner!

Good luck, Shelley. Ask away at the seminar. I am a bit surprised you are just now going to one...I had to go to mine before I was even approved, a requirement of the doc's. Make a list of questions and don't hesitate to ask. You will be thrilled with the results.

How Long Has It Been Since You've Seen Your Doc?
gargoyle replied to sdpressl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I haven't seen my doc in 18 months, having reached my sweet spot then. I would go ahead and find another doc now in case a problem or question arises you will have been proactive and ready to go. Good luck! -
No Drinking While Eating
gargoyle replied to Chandasue74's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You will learn really fast how not to drink ...for me it is a half hour before and after a meal. One time that you get that metallic taste in your mouth and feel the food rushing up will keep you from ever wanting to drink and eat again.....kind of a Pavlov's dog thing. It is so uncomfortable that you will not want to drink while you are eating...but be careful about drinking before and after your meal. I can't drink sometimes for up to an hour after I eat. Good luck, it is a small price to pay for the success of the band.
