Thanks for the good thoughts today.
I was truly afraid of failure and somewhat expected it so when I finally stepped on the scale I was astounded to see a loss.
I haven't really told anyone that I had the Lap Band because I wanted it to be my thing....I of course shared it with my family and close friends.
Hope you are doing well too. Your date is coming soon!
Take care and thanks again!
Jenn
Now that I feel some restriction it it truly a motivator to work harder with my body. How wonderful it feels to walk away from lunch full and only eating a few crackers, some tuna and cheese and a bit of tomato!

I had my first fill today 1.7cc
I had it done at Weight loss Surgical Center in Overland Park on 135th St.
They were nice but I waited over an hour to be seen after driving 3 hours. Oh well.
I feel okay. A little tired though!

Hi there Kansans!
I live in SE Kansas and had my first fill in Overland Park today.
All went well.
I will be back up there in 4 weeks. It is a 3hr drive for me but worth every minute!

Good to here from you.
I am feeling great. Hungry but great. All incisions healed.
Excited for my fill in the AM.
I am going to travel to Kansas City ..3hr drive. Not bad. I can go to a place 1hr away but they don't do Fluoro.
I was really surprised on how professional the Mexican hospital was.
Do you have anyone that can speak spanish for you? It would help but not necessary. Usually the Doctors can deal with most of the communication.
The gas pains are the worst. Be sure to stock pile on GasX.
You might consider finding a cheap flight from home and fly for your fills. It may be better than the 8hr drive and hotel.
My sister lives in Edmonton and came down here for some Lipo and laser surgery. A little cheaper but mainly a faster consult and surgery date. 1 week apart! We are planning a Lasik date in Edmonton next year.
After that teeth whitening.
I think we will be done then. After that , we will celebrate!
Good luck. I would love to hear your updates

Hello fellow Canadian nurse! And 40 too!
I went to Mexico and had a very positive experience in Monterry.
The follow all the same rules in the hospital. You may be surprised with some of the older techniques like no TED hose or SCD's but ACE bandages but other than that I saw no difference. They did have mini bottles instead of mini bags.
Privare message me if you have any questions!

Hi there
I too had my band in June. June 10th.
I am 39 though from your neighboring state Kansas!
I am doing okay except for the bloating/gas pains that like to shoot up to my left shoulder.
I am eating smoothies and soups and doing pretty good. I did make a really runny cream of wheat that has helped with the diarrhea.
How are you doing?
