Somehow try not to think of candy as a forbidden food just like you shouldn't consider yourself on a diet. You are changing your lifestyle and you need to allow these things into your life in moderation. Some have a sweet once a week, others try to fit in into their daily intake. This is your new life and you need to try things until you find what works for you. I do want chocolate quite often so I buy really rich types and have just a few squares and I really savour them too like the other ladies. It works for me! Another approach is to go sugar free for one week and your craving for it should diminish.

I lost weight faster at the beginning than I am now but I'm actualy doing better now. As time goes on I'm working my band better, learning to follow the rules and I'm improving my life constantly in regards to nutrition and exercise. Your band is a tool to help make weight loss easier, you still have to work at it. If you continue to loose a pound a week, just think of where you will be in a year from now. Work on yourself and follow the band rules and you'll get there in no time!!!

Thanks Meredith, I found some of the old posts on here and I checked out the Fitbit site. I exercise quite a bit but I'm a numbers person and I'm really excited about getting myself one. I like to plan little rewards for myself so I'll get one for myself when I hit either -85 or -90 depending on how much patience I have. LOL!!! Your comment about my ticker was cute, thanks for noticing! I call my band daisy so I thought it was very appropriate.

I had never heard of a fitbit until now? Do you really like it? Is it worth it?

It is normal to have a delayed reaction to a fill, up to 2 weeks! Crazy isn't it? It doesn't make much sense but it happens. I had a fill last week too and the restriction took 6 days to kick in. Don't get to tight though!

As long as the scale is moving in the right direction the band is doing its job. Remember to work your band and it will work for you!!! Just think where you will be 6 months from now! Have faith and work hard on the new you!

I'm a year and a half since I got banded and I still get it once in a while. It was worse at first but it does get better. Hang in there. I took lots of Gas X at the beginning. -
Help! Emotional Eater In Bandster Hell
pollywogg commented on Hopeful to be full's blog entry in Hopeful to be full's Blog
I eat to relax or unwind. I was eating when I wasn't even hungry. I recently read that a way to break this cycle you need to ask yourself two things before you eat. Are you hungry? (has it been 4 hrs since you ate last) and Are you depressed or anxious? I've been journalling these before everything I eat to be more mindfull. I find the evenings the worst so I hop on the treadmill or scrapbook to fill the time with something that is not compatible with eating. I really hope to break the cycle and put emotional eating behind me. Good luck with your journey!! -

Jogging is great but on the days you don't jog, walk for an hour. Try to get a 500 calorie deficit from exercise and you will lose for sure! -

Tips For Starting Exercise
pollywogg replied to MissManders's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I started Couch to 5k a few months after my surgery and I loved it! The program is constantly changing so it goes by really fast and the week by week progress makes you feel really proud of yourself. All you need is a pair of runners and a ipod to use as a timer. Even better download the C25K app. Hope you find something you love to do!!! -
I can't eat flatbreads but I do have wasa with peanut butter and tortilla's I can eat slowly but I can't eat the thick end if used in a wrap.

Question About The Lap Band Green Zone
pollywogg replied to cbreeden28's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Also is you stay away from dual textured foods like cereal and soup and stick to more solid foods you will feel full longer! -
Just take small bites and chew it to death and you'll be okay.
-
Also remember its not about how much you can eat with the band its about how little you can eat and be satisfied. Keep all meals and snacks to a cup of food or under!! Also exercise everyday!

Last week I bought my first pair of jeans in a size 18, I thought I was buying them for inspiration as I knew I was getting close to fitting them. I brought them home, put them on and they fit!!! YAY!!! -
I had a very positive experiance with the SWLC for both my surgery and all the folow up. I still talk to the nurses often and the dietician. They are all very quick to respond and very encouraging. Best of luck!

I have been on a plateau since just before summer started. Your post is very encouraging to me. I have been avoiding this site lately because I'm feeling very bad about it. Funny how yours was the first one I read. Thank you!
