Question from a banded woman's husband...
banuchi replied to azgunslinger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow, PM means a lot! By the way, I am not begging. I wish him well with his endeavors! Life is too short to hold grudges. Good luck with your weight loss and thanks for letting me know what it means. I didn't realize we could do that. Thanks for teaching me something new today! You said, "Private message. It means email him directly so the whole board doesnt know you are begging for work from some one who is not solicitating for workers but actually looking for support." __________________ -
smoothies post-op..how much...

Hi Angela. I am just 11 days post op so we're kinda in the same boat. I have found that the Odwalla Super Protein drinks are amazing. They are about the only thing I like although they are a little expensive. But, you will only need one or two of them a day. At day four, I was so still recovering. I drank one Odwalla Super Protein Pumpkin flavored and I blended in two scoops of vanilla protein powder. That gets you really close to the 60 that you need in a day and you can sip it at your leisure. I found the pumpkin flavor at Whole Foods Market in New Orleans on Magazine Street. Otherwise, most health food stores and upscale grocery stores carry Odwalla products (I should become a rep for Odwalla!). They seem to be in their own Odwalla cold case in front of the store at the end of an aisle. Good luck. They also come in Vanilla Almond, Chocolate and original which is sort of like strawberry bananna. The pumpkin is amazing because it is thin and when you add the protein powder it doesn't get ridiculously thick. At my one week follow-up I ran this by my nutritionist and she said it was great...but, if you have a problem with diabetes, it is sort of high in sugar. -

Question from a banded woman's husband...
banuchi replied to azgunslinger's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Why shame on me? Is it wrong to want more in life? Never. I can't help him with his wife, but I may be able to help his company further succeed. My husband has actually been a stay at home dad for 11 years. We absolutely love our situation and wouldn't change it for the world. I am not a trained professional in the Health Field. Okay, shame on me. I want more and I demand more from the people I work with, from my kids, from my husband, to my siblings, to my professors, from my doctor, etc. I think of it as paving the way through for those that are intimidated by a challenge. My doctor told me that he had never been asked if he could record the surgery from the monitor he was using. He was impressed that I wanted to learn in such detail what was happening with my body. -
Question from a banded woman's husband...

Would it be cold of me to ask for a job? I want something new in my life. I would love to travel internationally. I am pretty successful at what I do in the investment world, but I want more. I have my Series 6, 63 and 26. I totally believe in self actualization. It is just finding the right opportunity. I am two semesters away from my MBA in Corporate Finance, Financial Services and Global Business. Yes, three majors with honors. I totally understand and need to always be learning something new. Your wife...gosh, I wish I had something brilliant to say. Have you thought about removing the television from the house or accidentally breaking it? Our TV does not turn on in the house except Friday night, Saturday and Sunday. At least she would have to leave the house to buy a new one...unless she has learned to use the computer. You could try getting her cooking classes at an upscale grocery store...and you could join her. If you have some cash...there are so many things to do. I would love to be your muse and help you give her that extra nudge she needs. Good Luck.... -
Confused, Scared am I big enough??

I had all the same feelings that you did and used to joke around with my co-workers that I was going to Mexico to get banded. They always told me that wasn't a joke. My BMI hovers between 30 and 31 (I'm 5 6 1/2 and weigh 211). I do not have any comorbid signs. But mentally, I am as messed up as anyone when it comes to thinking about food. Before my surgery (I'll get to that in a minute) I planned splurges out weeks in advance. If I had a business trip to New Orleans, I knew exactly what restaurant to hit between the airport and my hotel and every moment thereafter. For the last year, I lived the worst of the seven sins gluteny! When I woke up in the morning I planned where I would stop for Breakfast, what I would eat for lunch, dinner and in between. I actually lied. It wasn't when I woke up, it was when I went to bed and then I would think about it again in the morning and throughout the day. My advice. Find the best doctor that is closest to you. The surgery will not cost more than $18,000 and you are worth it. This isn't even the price of a small car! Aren't you worth the cost of a car? Plus, you can't imagine how great you'll feel driving your new body around! In summary, don't go to Mexico. It is not worth it unless you live in Southern California and can go back to Mexico for fills and adjustments. Best of luck. Oh, and I'm not an expert at this at all. My surgery was only 10 days ago, but I feel like the weight of the world (no pun intended) has been taken off of my shoulders. I am worth $18,000! I deserve the best medical coverage and I didn't want to wait until I had comorbid signs! You are worth it!
