    Am I Full Yet?

I had 3cc's in my band straight out of surgery (I have a 9cc band). Patti, I am 14+ months out from surgery with 6 fills under my belt and am just now feeling restriction at 8.2cc's. It's not been as easy a road for me as some other bandsters who get restriction pretty quickly. As for feeling full, I haven't felt the old 'stuff myself until I'm comatose' full. Your new feeling of full will be different, mine is a tightness in my throat that is a tad uncomfortable. Up until my last 2 fills, it was a pain in my shoulder. I'm still learning as I go . Good luck!! Congrats on the 19lbs!!

After 7 Years, I Join The Slipped Band Club

I had really bad gas pain for about 2 weeks post-op. Everyone told me to walk and take gas-x strips. It just kind of has to work its way out (gas-x and walking didn't really alleviate much of the pain). Glad your surgery went well!!
  3. This. I'm petrified to have a meeting that serves lunch. Even just drinking Water sounds like I have a dinosaur trapped in my body.

Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

B = Small hot chocolate from the Flavia machine at work. L = half a serving of Soup at Hand Creamy Chicken. 1/4 liter of water. This last fill is a mofo.
  5. Yup! I was glued too. No stitches, which is wonderful. Regarding the ads, I don't think I see any. That's odd!! This thread hasn't bumped to a pg 2 yet, so maybe that's why? I use Google Chrome if that helps any for not seeing ads.

    No Fill

There's a lady in my December 2010 bandsters group who never had a fill. For some people, the band itself is enough restriction!! (Unfortunately not in my case, I'm almost maxed out )
  7. LOL @Amanda, I did the same thing. I even contemplated taking a picture so she could see the incisions.
  8. Some people have the surgery through the belly button and that's the only incision. There are several threads about that around here somewhere. I have 4. One right under my breast line, one over my port, one a little off and to the left of my port, and one in the crevice of my belly button. I had gallbladder surgery a year before the lapband so my tummy is a little pocked up, hehe. They're not bad though, I have good skin so they've faded quiet a bit. You can hardly tell where my scars are from the gallbladder surgery and the ones from lapband are fading too.

That's awesome you were able to maintain a loss, despite the difficulties. Best of luck with the new band!!

    Spicy Hot

OMG that pinwheel recipe sounds fab. Unfortunately my stomach hates hot sauce or else I'd try the combo.

    Cracker Question...

This might sound silly, and it's only good if you enjoy green onions (crunchy!). Green onion ham wraps!! I've been taking about 4 of these as my lunch. I'm in an office and don't have to breath on people. Green onion, deli ham and fat free cream cheese. cream cheese (2 tblsp) = 30 calories, 4 Proteins ham (Healthy Ones brand) = 60 calories, 10 proteins (per 6 slices) I put 3 on an onion I'll see if I can find a recipe if you're not sure what they are. Kinda looks like this: http://allrecipes.co...en-onion-wraps/ So if I have 4 of these it's ~25 g protein!
  12. I've recently taken up drinking these in the morning since it's near to impossible for me to eat early in the day. They're 180 calories, no sugar and 42 g of Protein. They're kind of like the little protein popsicle thing they gave me right after surgery. Not the best tasting, but I can eek it down for the protein value. http://newwhey.com/products.php

How Long Was Your Hospital Stay?

That was me too. I had a noon surgery, but I think I actually got into the ER around 1, into recover around 2ish so he wanted me to stay over night since I was done so much later than I was supposed to be. I was gone before 10 am the next day though.

    Gallbladder Surgery Soon

I had my gallbladder out prior to having lap band surgery. Mine was diseased and I would pretty much have an attack daily. My boyfriend is having his out on Wed for the same reason (obviously I'm contagious, lol) and I keep telling him he'll feel soooo much better after it's out. I was in such horrendous pain before-hand and I think he is too. Best of luck with your surgery. It's an easy-peasy one. (if nothing else) :Hugs: too for all that you're going through.

How Many Cc's In Your Band???

8.2 in a 9 cc. Just had .4cc's put in last week and was having trouble getting liquid down. I think I tried scrambled eggs too quickly (next evening after the fill) and I irritated it. This weekend I improved. I've already lost 10lbs in a week. Most I've ever lost in a chunk, but I have a feeling 80% of it is Water so I'm hoping now that I'm able to drink again It'll slow down (weird, I know, but it isn't healthy).
  19. I'm 14 months out and "only" down 59 lbs. I'll take whatever weight loss I can get. Because if I hadn't had the band for the last 14 months, I'd probably be up another 30+ lbs!! I'm a slow loser compared to everyone else in my surgery date group, but it beats the alternative. Also, as far as fills. I've had 6 fills. I'm at 8.2cc in a 9cc band. I think I'm just one of those people who took a long time to get to the green zone. I'm finally able to not eat 6inch subs or any bread really for that matter. So, glass half full!!!! You're doing good!

    So Tight

TWI, I'll have to look into that. It would be great to get some protein in at the same time. Thanks for the suggestions, guys!

    Just Getting Started

I didn't have co-morbidities either. I did start with a BMI of 46 though. And yes, I would not start anything weight loss-wise until you meet with the surgeon and they get the official weight to submit as well to the insurance.

    Obsession Over The Scales

Same! That's the only way I'll weigh myself, otherwise I get frustrated seeing higher numbers later in the day.
