  1. You are right to question, I think I have been successful because I was mentally ready for this step in my life. I hope you make the right decision for you and best of luck.

    Banded yesterday! Have questions...

The GasX strips helped me so much. I pretty much lived off chicken broth, sugar free popsicles and GasX the first week. Hope things are getting better!

    Issues with lapband

I know the feeling! I just had fluid removed this week because of constant puking. I have been having episodes on and off since about Thanksgiving. Great for weight loss, but bad if you want to have a life. Once you throw up you are so inflamed that this can cause a cycle of volitting. Mine was so bad, I threw up ice cream. The only explanation for me has been stress. I tend to have a lot of anxiety so working on ways to figure out how to manage stress and yet still have some restriction. I hope your Dr. will listen to your concers, no one wants to be sick all the time. Best of luck.

    Tip For Gas Relief

The Gas X strips helped me treamendously!
  5. Hi Rachel, I am 9 mos out post-op and down 65lbs. If you have specific ?s I might be able to help. Best of luck to you!

  6. Good luck with your journey! I had my band in May 2010 and am down 65 lbs. I have had ups and downs. I have to say I got really sick off the pain meds post-op and didn't know if I had made the right decision. Months later, I know I did. One thing I didn't anticipate was stress affecting my band. The days when I feel too stressed I can hardly eat. I just had some Fluid taken out and so far am feeling great. Hopefully just another stepping stone. My other tip is stay active. I work at a desk but try to get a min of 30 mins a day, 5 days a week. Some weeks better than others but I think this is soooo imporant!

    Puking :)

I was okay through about my 4th fill, around the holdiays the stress started to get the best of me. I had Fluid removed and it helped a little but the more I stress the tighter I feel. Also, the constant vomitting caused a lot of inflamation. I too got sick on yogurt once! I think the best is to have it loosened until you get back to feeling better.
  8. How are you feeling?

  9. I just noticed you had surgery last week. I am 9 months out, and have had ups and downs. If you have any questions just ask and congrats on your new journey!

  10. I took the full 2 weeks off. It really helped, but make sure to increase your activity at home so going back isn't so tough!

    caffine withdraws???

The preop diet that I did - 2 Protein shakes and 1 meal (meat & vegs) worked! If you stick to it you are going to be hungry but most people lose about 10 pouns. I didn't give up tea but I gave up my diet coke. I didn't have much headache for that. Hope this helps, if you have other questions send me a PM.

    Antibiotics & Stomach Irritation

Hi there, was just wondering what you ended up doing to combat this? In the past I took 5 day z-packs but am nervous that now with my band it might make me sick! Any suggestions?

    May 19 Bandsters

I was also banded 5/19 and here we are, made it through 3 months. I am down 39 lbs and probably in better shape than ever. How are you guys doing?
  14. I used Real Results too, and so far so good. I bet you can try to negotiate cost down with them but not sure how successful you will be. Maybe you won't need so many pre-op qualifiers since you are self pay. It is my experience they won't let you do payments but they will help you get approved financing through a company called Care Credit. If you have any questions about their office send me a message on here I'd be happy to answer if I can!
  15. It took me about a week to really get moving, and then just walking around the store made me so tired! It goes away and you will be amazed once you get back into your routine how much better you will feel. In the mean time, lots of sleep and fluids and keep moving! Good luck!

    Lap band and bras

I ended up getting some new ones where the wire just didn't have as much pressure in the middle, and that helped a lot. Now 3 months later it isn't an issue so it should get better!
  17. I got my Tylenol brand liquid at CVS.

    Entering Bandster Hell??? ARGGHH!

I am down 32 pounds and my second fill is Aug 18. Feeling pretty hungry but staying consistent with the eating and working out a lot is helping I think. What are chia seeds?
  19. How are things going for you post-op?

Banded 5/20 First Fill 6/29 HELLO

I was banded May 19 and had my first fill July 8. I am feeling hungry again but just trying to stick with it. The Dr. said it would probably take a few fills to get to where I am in the right zone, so just staying positive and really trying to stick to working out to lose the inches!

    Anyone from Georgia ??

I'm in Atlanta and was banded May 19 =)

looking for a Dr. in Ga.

I went through Real Results too and Dr. Duncan did my surgery. It was especially nice to have them do al the insurance approval and we met all qualifications so I had no issues with payment.
  23. This is so encouraging. The Dr. warned me it might take up to 3 fills to get to my "green zone". I am feeling hungry between meals and have about 3 weeks til my 2nd fill so just trying to log what I eat and workout a lot.
  24. How are things going for you Trish? I am good... staying with the exercise trying to get more weight training in my routine. I have noticed the same thing, the restriction on my fill wasn't much and my weight loss is slowed down but I notice my pants falling off a little more and more! I made it through the holiday which was a good feeling. My next fill isn't until the second week in Aug. so he said the next 2 months are going to be a long road! Hope you are doing well!

  25. Hey Trish, how are things going? I am getting a fill next week and my appetite has definitely grown. Just staying on track and making sure I get my daily exercise. Down 28 total, it is still going down but much slower. How about you?
