i am 6 weeks post op and i too find that i am drinking while i eat...i have spoken with the nurse about this habit and she tells me we cant break every habit all at once but to continue working on it......the reason for not drinking for 30-60 min after eating is to keep the food from being pushed thru the small pouch so u feel fuller longer.....just keep trying and best of luck to you...thats what i am doin

thank you all for your thoughts....and congrats to those who had their 1st fills too....she says i can come in every 2-3 weeks for fills as long as i can tolerate so i guess i better get used to them...and i will have the numbing cream from now on so hopefully that will help too....good luck to all of you on your journies as well!!!!

so today i had my 1st fill....wasnt sure what to expect but i had myself all worked up about the needle:crying: so i was a wreck when it came time....she used a timy needle and i have to say it did hurt...my port apparently is deep and she had to keep pushing down to find it...so didnt like that...still tender from surgery...but i have a 10cc band and it had 2 cc's in it and she put 2 cc's today...so i am upto 4cc's...i go back on july 19th for my next fill and she gave me a prescription for EMLA to put on bebore hand so i dont feel anything...thank goodness!!:thumbup:other then that i have to do all liquids for 2-3 days and then on to mushy and so on...lets see if this helps, cuz i honestly had no restriction whatsoever:confused: .....i am still happy i chose this route and am looking forward to the future:rolleyes:

i too am a diabetic who lived off soda...and snacks ...i cooked 1 meal a day and i also have 2 small kids...this process took me exactly 1 year from start til surgery day...i had the hardest time giving up soda i tried to wean off it ect ..but nothing worked..finally i had to let my ocd kick in and i said on new yrs eve that was it...at 1145 pm i took my last bottle up with me and swigged it down ..and never looked back...it was hard i wont lie...i felt like a crack junky going off ....but i did it...i started drinking sobe life waters 0 calorie only the red 1s...{ocd} but i did it and they waited 6 months for surgery...since having this surgery i have , 1 week post op i was able to go off 1 of 3 diabeties meds...still working to go off all meds...i wont lie, this is work...the band is only a tool ...i am only 4 weeks post op and i find i have cheated a couple times already , not with soda but with sweets...but i get right back on...just take it 1 day at a time and do everything your drs tell you...u can do this!!!
