    Any July Bandsters??

Welcome Debbie! I was banded on July 17th. I too had a hernia fixed. I am doing great now and am looking forward to my first fill, my Dr. does it at 6 weeks. I am trying to watch what I eat so I keep the weight that I have lost off while my band is loose. I hope you are through the gas pain stage, it was the most uncomfortable. Good luck!

    Any July Bandsters??

Hi y'all. It has been 18 days since being banded and I am doing fine. The second weekend was a trial, but after a lot of burping and belching and cramping we move on. I have lost 17 lbs. I drink a half cup of coffee every a.m.,with caffeine. I never thought about it. I need coffee to get my day started. Good luck.

    Any July Bandsters??

It has been two weeks today. I have had only one "PB" and fortunately that was at home. The gas gets to me still. I think it just doesn't want to leave the comfortable confines of my body. My biggest issue has been getting my meds down. I have to take it slow, on pill at a time. I think drinking lukewarm water helps. I am trying to walk everyday. Mainly indoors, baby it's hot outside! I am very happy with the LB. Hope everyone else is doing well.:cursing:

LOL how's week Two going? I have been okay. It seems hard to get enough protein. I have felt hungry a few times, but I have lost 15 lbs and that makes me sooooo happy. I live in AR., the heat has been intense for months, so I continue to walk the halls in my house and office.
  7. Thanks. I appreciate your story. Perhaps gravity will again befriend me. I feel 100% positive about LB. I for one will stick with the recumbent bike. My foot doctor doesn't want me on the treadmill again. Thanks for being here and being a friend

  8. OMG you poor dear!!!! I had a rough time on the tread mill also. WOW I was at the YMCA I wore a sweater that day and I just put it on the front and as I was into my not so fast walk it slipped off and I went to pick it up!!!!! Ha ha ha I am sure you can figure out just what that looked like. Flat on my face and rolling backwards... I am so sad to hear you have hurt yourself get better soon. It is amazing how much more energy we have now. I never knew I had before LB. I wish you a speedy recovery and I asked to be a friend. I am just walking around my neighborhood and keeping it safe until I can get the courage to go back to the YMCA. LOL Best wishes and keep it up imaluckydog

  9. Congrats! I have been banded for 10 days and have lost 15 lbs. I couldn't be happier. The adjustments to band life have been easy. My first exercise outing didn't go well. I was on the treadmill and closed my eyes for a nano second. Gravity did it's job...one busted lip and broken bone in my foot later..I have decided to use the recumbent bike for the foreseeable future. LMAO!! One day at a time.

    Any July Bandsters??

The night before is a time of great anticipation. Truly a new life is near. I didn't do anything special in preparation physically. I did get all my paperwork together, made sure I had my id, some cash etc in a little pile with my pillow for the ride home. DON'T FORGET THE PILLOW. It was a great comfort. Don't worry about an "accident" during surgery, the nurses will take care of you. Congratulations, you have made a great decision for yourself and your future. Let us know how it goes.

    Any July Bandsters??

I was banded last thursday, the 15th. Everything has gone pretty well. I have lost nine lbs so far. The biggest recommendation I have is to get up and walk as soon as possible to start getting the gas out of your system. It is so hot here that I did laps around the inside of the house. It work. Since the gas got out I have had some soreness, but not real pain. I have stuck with broth and jello. I have had miso soup with out the tofu, it was a big treat. Good luck and enjoy the journey. I am so happy I did this for myself.

I had surgery last Thursday. It went fine. I got the gas out. It was more painful than the incisions. It has been over 100 degrees everyday her so to exercise I did laps around the inside of the house. It worked. Today I ate miso soup, my first hot entree. It was good. I have to focus on hydration. I do get full easy. I have lost nine lbs so far.:rolleyes2:
