Hello All - I am here to research information on the Lap-Band surgery. I am SERIOUSLY considering it. I was very healthy in high school and played multiple sports. Once I was out of high school many things changed, including my level of activity. I never had to watch my weight before and 7 yrs out of high school and I am terribly over weight. I have tried exercise and weight watchers. Both have given me minimal results. I would really like to get the weight off...I think my biggest problem is my self-esteem. I still think I am look the same as I did in high school, but when I look in the mirror it is NOT true. Call me crazy...I really want to loose the weight and get healthy. I am on multiple meds for high blood pressure and recently had to have gallbladder surgery. The dr saw my liver when he was operating and was very upset at how unhealthy it was for my age. I don't want to continue on the path I'm on, as a lot of the women in my family are over weight and have diabetes. I married my high school sweet heart two years ago, and we are really wanting to start a family. However we are both VERY concerned on how my weight will effect the pregnancy. So I hope to find support and knowledge on making my decision.
