FYI, I have had many fills and I can eat anything I want to. I do make good choices tho and eat healthy (mostly) filling foods. It WILL help you stay full longer... eventually.

Easy Babydoll! Everyone gets there in their own time. I have had (lost count) 7 or 8 fills so far. Last one this week. Be easy on yourself. Nothing happens overnight. Keep going back to your surgeon. Talk with your Nut. Good Luck

To each, their own. This is a very personal journey! Good luck to you, which ever you choose!

No Symptons Normal or not?
SUEBDOO replied to Mewizza's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You may not feel "banded" for several months. Sorry. I had my surgery 2 8 11 I have only recently felt, not restriction, rather I am able to feel....not hungry for several hours between meals. I am not craving anything between meals. Please know that you may never feel "restriction" whatever that means. Here is what to look for. Being able to put a "normal" (small) amount of food on your plate, eat that and feel satisfied. You may be able to eat more but you dont "need" to. At some point you will be able to not be hungry for 4 to 5 hours between meals. Some of the talk about the lapband is misleading and people ( I ) was looking for a "feeling" that wasn't happening for me. When I realized that instead, I was feeling fuller longer and losing weight and still able to eat real food, I was there. I am losing slowly and steadly, It isn't magic and it isn't fast. Be patient and learn to love yourself a little. The band does work! Me -
pfft. I had my surgery done in feb 2011 and I have had MANY fills. If I only ate 3 bites I would be starving......Try to put that out of your head. What I eat now probably looks more like "normal" portion sizes. When I am done with what I put on my plate....(I only place on my plate what I think is a normal portion). I am satisfied, I could eat more, I just dont need to. I make sure I get a good serving of a lean protein and I always have veggies with dinner. I try very hard not to snack, If I have to have something I use a pure protien bar or a apple, something like that. I think we have to be realistic, starving ourselves is not the answer. Listen to your body, the band will not prevent you from putting more food in your body. Try portioning out your food, eat slowly. then time how long you can wait until your really hungry. That is the only way I could do it. The band did not stop me from eating, but allowed me to fill full for several hours in between meals. I find that if I am not careful, I think about food all day......hmmm part of my addiction maybe ???? I hope that helps a little. I was going crazy thinking that at some point I could eat a coupe of bites and whooo cant eat no more....not this girl. But I am losing weight and that my friend is what I did all this for. : ) Good Luck!

I understand no potatoes, but no CARROTS?
SUEBDOO replied to 14isabella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I eat all veggies and am losing, I think surgeons do try to steer us away from high carb foods as they can trigger binging. Everything in moderation... -
Saying goodbye to food/Night time eating question.
SUEBDOO replied to LisaJane's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the hardest time at night, esp when hubby snacks. I make sure that I have something to nibble on that wont make be binge. Like 1 skinny cow ice cream or half salt white popcorn. a small amount of triscuts with low fat cheese. I am not really hungry, Just looking to munch on something. the band will NOT stop you from eating, you still have to stop you........I ask myself when I get the munchies at night "am I really hungry or do I just want to eat" It is almost always, I just want to eat..... -
I eat 3 regular meals a day Breakfast is typically a bowl of mixed fiber one cereals with a sliced banana and skim lunch is typically chicken or tuna salad with or a lettuce salad with chicken or beef strips a "normal" dinner steak, chicken, fish just a smaller protion bedtime snack....I Love sugar free pudding with redi whip or a skinny cow ice cream. I exercise 30 minutes every day

taking forever to lose the weight...
SUEBDOO replied to SUEBDOO's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got a .25 ml fill today. Surgeon asked why I only lost 1.5 pounds over the last month.I did not have a good reason for him..... I exercise 30 minutes every day. My main problem is with the evening snacking. I dont eat any "unhealthy" food at all. But I def have been having problems with satiety in the evening. Well, hopefully todays fill will help in the lonnnng fight loss. -

taking forever to lose the weight...
SUEBDOO posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just feeling frustrated. I had my surgery in Feb.2011 and still not in the "zone". I have had several fills and still rarely feel restriction. If I could just feel and stay full Maybe things would go a little faster. If just relying on myself to stop eating was enough I would not have had to have the surgery. I feel kinda whiney but it just seems that by now it would really start kicking in, the band I mean.... -

SUEBDOO replied to Diva01's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I like the Centrum, The taste is fine and the vitamin content is what I want. They are not all created equal : )
